I was just wondering who do posters find interesting and reasonably fair. Only snag for the craic is ye cant name someone from your own county. AthCliath (Dublin) - Posts: 4347 - 27/05/2014 20:56:51 1594459 Link 0 |
Big fan of both Anthony Tohill before his accident he was the best around , the Seo Spoirt gang take some beating led by the excellent Dara O Cinneide , really think sky missed a trick in not including Dara , Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 27/05/2014 21:21:35 1594474 Link 0 |

I find Donegal's Martin Carney boring(but not quite as bad as either of our own Maughan and McStay).Ger Canning, however takes the biscuit. Bring back O'Muircheartaigh. Miler (Mayo) - Posts: 1015 - 27/05/2014 21:57:20 1594511 Link 0 |
I actually quite like Brolly, he's certainly interesting, fair? Well thats debateable but I would still rather tune into him than BBC's coverage of the Ulster Championship. GetOverTheBar (Tyrone) - Posts: 1388 - 28/05/2014 08:14:03 1594518 Link 0 |
duignan is the best huring analyst by a long way.hes like giles in soccer,he can see something developing before it happens.i like mcstay in football, hes been there as a player and manager so thats invaluable. kavvie (Clare) - Posts: 505 - 28/05/2014 08:23:04 1594520 Link 0 |
I used to think Kerry's John o Keffe was a very good man to sum up a game He used to write a lot in the Irish Times. SamOnErrigal (Donegal) - Posts: 1427 - 28/05/2014 08:35:03 1594522 Link 0 |
Agree on Cinneide and McStay. McConville very good on BBC also. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 28/05/2014 08:50:20 1594528 Link 0 |
Nothing got to do with him been a Meath great but Graham geraghty in the sun is excellent, great and fair analysis. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 28/05/2014 08:53:32 1594529 Link 0 |
Yeah Dara O Cinneide and the SEO spoirt gang are good. I always look out for Brolly, despite the love/hate relationship many have with him, I still like to hear what he has to say. Keith Duggan in the Times is also a good writer. I always had a soft spot of Padi when he wrote for the indo (RIP). yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11231 - 28/05/2014 09:05:28 1594535 Link 0 |
I like O'Cinneide. He is very professional and obviously knows what he's talking about given his background. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9136 - 28/05/2014 12:22:07 1594644 Link 0 |
As far as fair goes Malachy Clerkin is very good. Floops (Dublin) - Posts: 1623 - 28/05/2014 12:50:49 1594660 Link 0 |
Colm O'Rourke is decent, always gives a fair point of view. The worse is Pat Spillane, who says things for the sake of it, without any facts. His latest one, was to claim that Louth abandoned the Blanket defence against Westmeath at HT, because it wasn't working(we were 3 points up at HT), and at no stage changed our defensive system. O'Cinneide is excellent as is Kevin McStay and Colm O'Rourke generally. Colm is a good writer though he certainly got it wrong in his preview of the Donegal/Derry game last Sunday in the Indo. I like Brolly despite the controversies. Spillane is too Dunphyesque for my liking. As for most of the commentators I have heard better accompanying the videos of the Kildare County finals. lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 2990 - 28/05/2014 14:28:18 1594721 Link 0 |
Mcstay as a pundit . In terms of commentators I love Darragh Maloney, I think he should be given a lot more games. northsidegael (Meath) - Posts: 108 - 28/05/2014 14:58:17 1594733 Link 0 |

Analysts don't concern me too much, I generally don't see too much of them, I suppose I like the ones who aren't constantly barking for attention, the ones who are I just shut out because I find them excruciatingly boring. Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 28/05/2014 15:42:54 1594757 Link 0 |
From the old days, I used to love Raymond Smith's hurling books and I have a liking for Brolly's writing (Gaelic Life). Vincent Hogan tries to copy Con Houlihan's style too much for my liking. Breheny, Sean Moran decent enough. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8592 - 28/05/2014 16:50:10 1594798 Link 0 |
