Your County's Ambitions This Summer

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

So what do you want your county to achieve in this year's championship? Ok so every single one of us dreams about our county winning the All-Ireland, be it Sam or Liam (some counties both) but realistically what is the target that would satisfy you for the year?

For me I think if Meath got to the last 8 (in football obviously) that would signify progress, plus once you get that far you could still win a game or two more, who know's. Doing it by winning Leinster would be brilliant obviously, but that's something I'd love on a personal level, the main target for me would be the last 8.

A Leinster title in hurling , a semi final is realistic , Dream of an All Ireland Hurling final .
Hopefully minors get a leinster , anything else bonus country .

Yes quarter finals for the Royals would keel me reasonably happy, even more so if we were provincial champions!!!!

Dublin (realistic): Win Leinster and maybe make a respectable semi-final appearance bowing out to the eventual AI winners Mayo!

Tyrone for Ulster; and, as one of the few teams who have the kahonies
to put it up to Dublin, Tyrone will beat the 'unbeatable' and go on
to face Cork in the AI final!

However I won't be placing any bets on my county, but not because of lack
of faith in them, more a lack of faith in those I have placed past bets
with...ahem!

Looking forward to a long and enjoyable summer ahead; starting Sunday.

Obvious response from the Dub side of me - win Sam and Liam.
But in fairness I think the last 4 in the hurling would be a positive achievement and to retain Leinster would be magic.

The Cavan side of me (fathers side) says last 8, winning ulster is a touch too far this year I feel, battling through qualifiers with 1 or 2 upsets would be great. Hopefully a bit of luck in the draw for the country cousins.

Beat Roscommon next Sunday. Thats as good as Sam to us.
Freedom to wear your jersey in Carrick for one day without abuse would be heaven.

Win against Derry, if not that, a damn good performance. After that, we will see. I would love to be in Clones again this year.

Would be nice to win Ulster, esp for the young lads who haven't won much with Tyrone.

4 in a row in the provincial , would love to say Sam as well , but i think after all the heartbreak would rather be beaten in the semi's !!
A good showing in the Christy ring for the hurlers, young team , would like to see them push on next year , they deserve a day in Croker

Dublin football - retain our leinster and all ireland crowns.

Hurling - Try retain leinster. Hopefully get to an All Ireland final.

There is no point play cute hoorism here.

Football: All-Ireland champions. Dublin are favourites but no team is unbeatable and there is no point in having five year plans. The best time is always now.

Hurling: Again, the aim has be winning it. However, I think the Kilkenny will win this year's All-Ireland. I think Clare will win Munster. I think we will be beaten at the quarter final stage this year.

Win a game this year. Louths sole victory in all competitions so far in 2014 has been in the O Byrne Cup against Westmeath who they are ironically playing this Saturday.
