Walsh Cup Final

(Oldest Posts First)

Kilkenny with Henry back on board look like they mean business as usual with a 12 point hammering of Galway. Dublin also qualified for the final, sneaking past Wexford by one point. Final next Sunday probably in Parnell Park.

Next sunday will be a nice test for both sides two weeks before the league starts.

Well spotted Wayno. Should be a great double header. Can't wait for both matches.
Ticket office now open on Sat for Parnell Pass Holders to collect their 4 Match Spring Series Ticket.

What happens to injured players fund money if Walsh Cup final is in Croker? Does that mean Parnell Pass holders get in free for both or will they charge for the hurling :-)

Shefflin is looking very fit for this time of year.

Dublin team for Walsh Cup Final. 1 Alan Nolan 2 Cian o Callaghan 3 Peter Kelly 4 Jack Dougan 5 Stephen Hiney 6 Conor McCormack 7 Joey Boland 8 Shane Durcan 9 Jonny McCaffrey 10 Conal Keaney 11 Ryan O Dwyer 12 Colm Cronin 13 Paul Ryan 14 David O Callaghan 15 Mark Schutte. A good few changes from the Wexford game, with some of the big guns brought back to face the Cats. Still there are five new players in the starting line up with a chance to claim a permanent place on the team.

I'd love to get up for this double-header but between work & sporting commitments here don't think it will happen :( The hurling will be interesting as both will be looking to lay down a marker for the year ahead whilst also blooding new talent.

It will be pretty tasty I'd say Keeper! Dublin haven't beaten the Cats twice in a row since 1765 :-)

Terrible weather all over the country, but because of the quality of the pitch in Croke Park the two matches will probably go ahead unless the streets in the area get flooded. But if tomorrow is anywhere as bad a lot of fixtures will go by the wayside.

Any sign of the Cats team Clon? Way the betting has moved would suggest that Cats will be weaker on paper.

No sign of Cats team hurlingdub, all i hear is Brian Cody telling us how good Henry Shefflin is going to be.

Decent enough game in Croker last night with KK coming out on top with four points to spare. Bar for the first five minutes the Cats led for the rest of the game, and at various points were from five to eight points ahead ,with the Dubs reining them back in on occasion. The big story of the night was the Display of Paul Schutte. With six points from play and continually winning the ball in the air he showed he is deffinately ready to step up this year. Another spark for Dublin last night was the arrival of Danny Sutcliffe in the pitch just after half time, showed class in everything he done.

Who did Kilkenny have out?

Decent enough game. Dublin backs were weak with a few exceptions. Badly missing Mikey, Rushe, Schutte, Corcoran. Am still confident for the year.

VERONICA both teams missing a lot of players. Kilkenny only had about six players from the first team on duty, but they looked very fit and were first to the ball a lot of the time , especially in the first half.
