Thought it was interesting that leinster are in the top 3 favs to win allireland in minor football,yet as far as i know a player from leinster has never won the young player of the year award.
Any thoughts about who could be in the short list this year, will leinster make the breakthrough.

Paddy Mc is definitely in with a shout along with one or two of the Kildare lads and also Jack McCaffery can't really see anyone else making a claim but sure its championship football.

Too early to say as this is based usually on championship. Hopefully a Dublin player can take the award at the end of the summer. Jack McCAffrey is the obvious one.

ye never know, cillian o connor is some player, and to win it twice is a great achievement, though in 2011 i think james mc carthy had a great chance ,but because Alan Brogan got senior its was always gonna be difficult.
For the DUBS id say jack mc caffrey and paul mannion have as good a chance as anyone.
Interesting to see from other counties who to look out for.

Mannion is outstanding for Dublin at the moment.
Paddy McBrearty is also outstanding and will shine

Performances in the championship will count for a lot.
Mannion, McBrearty, Kilkenny would be obvious contenders but the summer will throw up a few others.
