Cavan v Armagh

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

What's the thoughts on this one??

Both missing players but is McKiernans miss too much for Cavan?

Armagh totally unpredictable so it's probably a toss up.

Armagh to shade it for me though.

Couldnt call this at all. Cavan will be hoping that they can progress on from good under 21 results over the past few years. Armagh I just dont know!!! Great chance for eithier side to maybe and thats a big maybe win a Ulster title.

The Jamie Clarke factor will swing it Armaghs way, although I would be delighted to be proven wrong.

We have named quite a young team and the FB line in particular are really untested at this level. The experience of the HB line - Aaron K, Brendan Donaghy and McKeever will be vital in both supporting the FB line and - through kernan and mckeever - starting quick attacks.

Expecting Tony Kernan to swap positions with young O'Hanlon and hopefully can give one of his typical hard working displays.

Hoping we will edge it by 2 or 3 points

I believe that Armagh might make the Ulster final this year.

Clarke was brilliant last year against Tyrone in the championship and I think his class will make all the difference. Armagh to win by 2 points.

Armagh have a Jamie Clarke. We don't. That will most likely decide this game.

Armagh are missing Toner and Vernon though, two midfielders, which would give us some hope EXCEPT that we're missing our man in the middle McKiernan as well, so both teams struggling with injuries at midfield. We may need another year or two to make the step up that we hope will come with a bit of experience for the young lads. Having said that a win Sunday is not beyond us, but I think Clarke will have too much for our inexperienced full back line.

This is an easy one to call, Armagh to win it very comfortably.

Armagh to shade it, with Jamie clarke and armaghs half back line being the difference

Stefan Forker seems to be fairly confident anyway. Statement like that should have the Cavan men riled up!

"The first hurdle is Cavan and we're concentrating all our efforts on that game and then we can start to worry about a quarter-final against Fermanagh."

Unfortunately poor old Cavan and Armagh will play second fiddle to the mighty men of Connacht this weekend.

I know people are saying that Armagh's half back line is strong but to be honest McKeever is well past his sell by date, great player in his day and even if he isn't that old he still has a lot of miles up on the clock. In fact they have a serious lack of pace and mobility across their half-back line and midfield which could be the difference with a young energetic Cavan side.

I'm going for a Cavan win!

This is Cavan's big chance to get to an
Ulster final again, the Breiffni men will
rise in 2013. Cavan by a point, they will
stop the supply into Clarke and negate his
influence.
