The best hurley makers are down the country. Cork, Tipp, KK.. My club buys from Mcauliffe in Charleville all the time. They have a good quality stick. Some other lad in club use Torpeys from Clare,

John Codd, Rathnure, makes excellent hurls. Also Im pretty sure he delivers as far away as Antrim and Cork. He definitely does hurls for some clubs in Dublin already.

Shotstopper01 - I agree with you that Dalys are poor but Shanahanas are the best hurleys you can get in the county!!

That was before posh lads started to play out beyond in Kilmacud and Ballyboden and the like. They call them horls or horleys ;-)

Not as bad as some northern friends of mine who call them hurley bats!!!

hurlingdub:

Good man hurlingdub you know its funny cause it true, noticed that alright when i was living up there..... twas a status thing for many of the posh crew to have a son with and irish name that also played horling!!
But the main thing is that there's more and more playing the game up there so that aint a bad thing.... but i'll still take the p*ss out of them!
