OK Mayo. We get it : no hype, no songs, no Mayo for Sam, no Taoiseach threatening to run onto Croke Park etc. This year it's going to be completely different. All expectations are being carefully 'managed' so that the lads will explode out onto Croke Park fully primed and focussed; not an ounce of energy will have been expended on dealing with all the hype. If the prep is different then the outcome will necessarily be different too, or so the logic goes. Must admit I'm a little spooked. That Rochford is a clever buck. Much prefer to see secondary schools embarrassing themselves with Andre Bocelli knock-offs. So, come along and sing with me: Bom bom bom, everybody say Mayo, mayo.....Bom bom--- OK. I'm convinced the world won't be the same if Mayo actually win sam. All the banter of the legendary curse just gone. No more bottlers. No more bridesmades. No more poor Mayo. No more maybe next year...Who will Mayo even be after a win on Sunday ehy?
