No idea and I watched the incident again there on the Sunday Game.

Sub level officiating by a linesman, Kingston should have walked.

Sunday Game said he swung back at C Gleeson.

Wondered this myself
Was it mistaken identity for no12(I think) who dug into conor Gleason ribs with the hurl?

He digged the Waterford lad in the stomach when he was on the ground. And then he threw himself to the ground like he was shot when gleeson retaliated. Obviously was looking for a reaction which is really sly when the game was over. A shame the Waterford player fell for it.

Think myself it was mistaken identity with Shane Kingston

Because he punched Gleeson in the back, was clearly seen during the replay of the game but for some reason the same angle wasn't used when it was being analysed on The Sunday Game.

Horgan started the whole thing initially. When Gleeson and him tangled on the ground Horgan gave Gleeson a little rabbit punch with left his fist or else pinched him. Handbags stuff but he deserved the whack he got off Gleeson. Silly stuff. Not deserving of a red..yellow for both. The rules are too strict around striking.

He struck first, he punched Gleeson in the back and then Gleeson swung is hurl at him. I rewound it twice at the time and watched it back.

Having watched the incident, whilst both players were on the ground, Horgan's left hand made contact with Gleeson's abdomen - I'm going on the presumption that Horgan must have given Gleeson some sort of dig or pinch for Gleeson to react the way he did, but again that's only presumption on my part, the TV replays are inconclusive. Maybe the linesman saw more.

"maybe the linesman saw more"

Obviously someone saw more.

I mean, Do ya think the Ref would just send the dude off for the sake of it ?

Well, GAA refs have been known to send 2 players off on the age-old mantra of "arra, both of 'em were at it"

Probably yeah!

But that's cause the referee/linesman sees both of them at it.

My point is, Whether replays show what happened or not, he wasn't just sent off for no reason. Quite clearly a linesman saw a red card offence by Horgan. The ref didn't just dish out a red card for the sake of dishing one out. Something was seen and the officials reacted to that even if we at home didn't see it..

Bad form by Horgan. Feel sorry for Gleeson, he shouldn't have reacted, obviously heat of the moment stuff.

Correct - was at the game and this happened in front of me.

Horgan should have seen red against Clare also!

Looks like Cork are appealing Horgan's red card and assuming that it will be transferred to Kingston.

Appears that it was mistaken identity after all.

Conor Gleeson spent the entire match digging and slapping Conor Lehane with the hurley off the ball, on one occasion flooring him with a shoulder into the back. He got everything he deserved.

Do you thing that John Denton knows what he's doing at all, when he says that he saw nothing wrong wrong Austin Gleeson pulling the helmet off Luke Meade?
