Not often RTE get praise on here but they should be applauded for deciding to televise the 5 remaining games in senior camogie this year. The players are long overdue this type of recognition and anyone who cant see the football this Saturday due to it being on Sky will at least have the chance to watch what should be 2 very competitive camogie games. Lets hope its a sign of better things to come. Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 04/08/2017 12:31:19 2028868 Link 5 |

Stop. These are our National sports, our National broardcaster should have shown these and the U21, the club games, ladies football etc for yeats. As money takes over other sports RTE will try to show more GAA reluctantly because every other has told them to! @#$ off witnof (Dublin) - Posts: 1604 - 04/08/2017 13:42:00 2028913 Link 2 |
What else can they show at this time of year without paying massively for rights? They've probably realised (finally) that TG4 have stolen a march on them with their GAA & LGFA coverage. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 04/08/2017 14:06:51 2028926 Link 0 |
These are our National sports, our National broardcaster should have shown these and the U21, the club games, ladies football etc for yeats. Why? do you think rte only exists to show GAA? What's the harm in TG4 having the rights to club games and ladies gaa? they do a great job, i'm glad they have the rights for them and would hate to see GAA totally removed from TG4. it's so easy to say 'oh rte don't care about club games and that's why they don't show them'. it's hardly as black and white as that turkeyplucker (UK) - Posts: 137 - 04/08/2017 14:13:24 2028931 Link 2 |

Ireland is hosting the ladies U18 european basketball championships over the next week, starting today with games in the NSC, National Basketball Arena and Cork. The egg chaser lovers in RTE probably aren't even aware of it. Joxer (Dublin) - Posts: 4700 - 04/08/2017 16:08:44 2028995 Link 1 |
The heads of RTE sport have minimal if any interest in GAA. They will show the camogie as they get it for half nothing and can focus all their energy of the Womens rugby world cup and the build up in Ballsbridge & Donnybrook. hurler32 (Limerick) - Posts: 867 - 04/08/2017 16:31:12 2029006 Link 4 |
Agree with you there. Sure you only have to look at the areas where the top brass live. Out of touch with the ordinary people and their tastes

RTE will continue to concentrate on coverage for the top counties and expect more of the same with the Super 8 in 2018. Two minute Sunday Game snippets of the so-called weaker counties will be the norm as they will re-analyse the live games of the weekend instead if giving more Sunday Game highlights coverage to so-called weaker counties. I contacted RTE Player feedback about this, suggesting they show a second highlights show on the Player or put more extended highlights of so-called weaker counties on the Player or on YouTube. They didn't tell me things were going to change but gave me an e-mail to the Sunday Game. Two weeks later they haven't had the courtesy to reply.
