Is this a Laois problem or more commonplace?

I read that article today Laois76. Going back to Micko's time with Laois there were reports of Laois players drinking befroe games. Laois lost an U21 game to Wicklow and there were reports/rumours of Micko having to go to pubs in Portlaoise to get players to go home on the eve of the match.

Yes Lilywhite, has always been a problem. Mick Dempsey managed Laois footballers, 1996-1998 and had to call around to lads houses to get them out of bed for league matches! The same Mick Dempsey who is so well respected by Brian Coady and Kilkenny hurlers for his Strength and Conditioning programmes and tactics like those which broke down the Cork short passing game in the 2006 All Ireland. A prophet is never accepted in his homeland!

Under Dempsey Laois won an U21 Leinster Football title in 1994 and celebrated by kicking the cup around the Pedigree Corner niteclub car park. They were almost banned for destroying the cup the next year.
