The County Club Football Championships

(Oldest Posts First)

Now that there are just 12 teams left in the AI meaning 20/32 are out and are therefore free to play off their club championships, I'd like to know how many counties are actually doing this? I ask this in light of the furore made by the CPA months ago (rightly so) about playing club championship in late autumn and interrupted schedules and county player non-availability. The first counties went out of the championship on June 18, 4 weekends ago so are those counties now playing their club championships? How many weeekends does your county need to play their club championships? Is there any reason why they can't be played in 10/12 weeks, meaning that they'd be finished around All Ireland Sunday. Is that reasonable for those counties? I know when I played club championship, there was nothing better than having all the games close together, every second weekend if possible - rarely happened of course.

I play in Meath and they have sent out their championship fixtures for the rest of the season.

There are 8 more rounds to be played in football and 5 more in hurling.

Our Championship is due to restart again on 25th July. The senior football final is down for 29th October with games being played roughly every other week.
