Corks toughest game in this years HC

Cork have beat Tipp , Waterford and Clare in this hurling championship which one of them gave Cork their toughest game ?

I think that it was Clare they wasted a lot of scoring chances which if they had scored they probably would have beat cork

None of them! Cork were far superior on all days and should be joint favs now with Galway for the All Ireland.

None it's Cork's All-Ireland to lose now. Galway might stay with them for 30 - 40 minutes if they are lucky.

Corks toughest game in this years HC

Yet to come.

The one weakness I've seen is the amount of goal chances created against Cork, particularly by Tipp and Clare. Neither took all those chances but Galway are definitely a team to take most chances that come their way.

As things stand I'd have Galway slightly ahead of Cork but the Rebels have already confounded expectations so far this year.

I agree Clare were best against Cork and might well have won had they taken their chances. This Cork team has come overnight like the mushrooms and they are serious contenders for the All-Ireland.I still think either Galway or Tipp will win it out this year.

I still fancy Tipp and I am not sure if Cork will even make the final.

Tipp were closest to Cork without even being in form. Cork only won that game in the last few pucks of the ball.
Galway & Tipp on form are the frontrunners. Cork in behind them but ahead of the rest if they play to form.
You'd be hoping that Galway meet Tipp and Cork squeeze into the final on the other side and take their chances against 1 of them. They are not going to beat both this year. The more Croke Park game time the better for the Team.

The Clare game for Tipp is massive. They are after 2 easy games and un-tested. Clare are after 2 battles and found out a lot about themselves in the Munster Final. If Tipp show up at anything below 100% they will be out.
In the other Quarter Final I still see 1 more glorious day for Davy & Wexford before they wrap up the year. Clare & Wexford are both 3/1.

You are probably right because a Kerry person would know all about the game of hurling

Nothing to do with him being from Kerry .........

2002 Waterford won the Munster Final, knocked out in the semi final by Clare who lost in the early rounds in Munster
2007 Waterford won the Munster Final, knocked out in the semi final by Limerick who lost the Munster Final
2008 Tipperary won the Munster Final, knocked out in the semi final by Waterford who lost to Clare in Munster
2010 Waterford won the Munster Final, knocked out in the quarter final by Tipperary who lose the Munster 1/4 final to Cork
2013 Limerick won the Munster Final, knocked out by Clare who lost to Cork in the Munster championship ......

The winners in Munster often face a 5-6 week break before their next game and the sides with the momentum from back door games pick them off.

Ignorant comment Redhot and not one a lot of Cork people would agree with........an awful lot of good hurling people in Kerry who have helped them make massive progress in recent years so catch yourself on.

In 2013 both provincial champions were knocked out in the semi finals. With Dublin losing to Cork after a 5 week gap.

How many teams have won the all Ireland hurling after coming in the backdoor

I think the long break will suit this Cork team. This team puts in a savage effort in every game closing down the man and have an immense work rate. This was very obvious in the league against Tipp in Pairc Ui Rinn. The next week out Limerick beat Cork. I don't think the back door would suit this Cork team.

Thank you for having my back PaudieSull !!!
By the way RedHot I would be first to admit that my knowledge of hurling doesn't go beyond being a couch potato but I will be coming back to you for an apology if I am right !
I will remember this in August :-)

This is an absurd comment. There is a hotbed of hurling in North Kerry and Kilgarvan. Johnny Quirke, 4 in a row winning Ireland hurler was from Milltown.
