Delighted for McStay.

One of the few pundits to put his money where his mouth was and one of the fewer to go and back it up with a title.

Well done to Roscommon, didn't really see that coming but they finished the game very strongly and some of their scores were outstanding, brilliant stuff.

Pleased for McStay...maybe some in Roscommon will not consider him a blow in anymore.

Great win for the Rosssies. Well done. Hard luck Galway.
Murray excellent at the back for Ros.
Galway will struggle to get anywhere near Donegal.

Agreed ifindoubt.
Have always had huge time for McStay. He's taken some stick the last year & fully deserves that win.

Fair play Roscommon well worthy of the 9pt win 2 great goals. Galway bought into hype last 10mins against mayo should have had them on guard. On separate note the pushing and shoving at the end of the match really pixxes me off always instigated by the losing team who can't take there beating comer deserved his red card were was that fight and aggression when it was put up to them when the game was there to be won.

Gutted. Outplayed, outfought out everything. Fair play to Roscommon.

Congrats to Roscommon, im actually very happy for Kevin Mc Stay and big Liam. They were excellent, yes we were shocking. Kevin Walsh has a lot of answering to do. I believe he peaked Galway for the league Final / Mayo game. We were so dead legged and leaderless. Not taking away from Roscommon. Best team in the West..

Wasn't that great? No harm to Galway, but football needs more results like this. Roscommon weathered the Galway mini-revival at start of second half and closed out the game well. They always had the look of a team that wanted to win it; mentally stronger and more focussed than Galway. You'd have to be a miserable **** to argue for abolishing the provincial championships when it produces results and memories like this for players and fans.

Well done Roscommon, Kevin McStay has answered his critics. I thought Galway might win, but going by the radio, Roscommon were better, even when the margin was down to 3 in the second half, they rallied and finished stronger.

A good football county, nice to see them win something..

Very well said. I heard a Roscommon man claim this as their best Connacht final performance in the last 30 years after listing all their wins - I doubt anyone will ever do that for coming top of a 4 team group. Great performance from them today and after many experts claiming Connacht was a 1 horse race at the start of the season it's brilliant to see a 3rd horse come through. Pity that yet again the Connacht showpiece was badly affected by the wind, hopefully it is not back in Salthill again for some time.
