Saw this yesterday. Surprised Mayo and the management are not highlighting it seeing as they are always feeling sorry for themselves etc. etc. TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7831 - 03/07/2017 11:58:10 2009517 Link 1 |
I agree Wayno. No mention on the Sunday game either with Ciaran Whelan only discussing that Paddy Durkan should get a month ban for his lash out punch. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 03/07/2017 12:00:48 2009522 Link 0 |

And the inconsistent media coverage of discipline matters runs on!! keithlemon (Australia) - Posts: 920 - 03/07/2017 12:11:23 2009537 Link 1 |
Correct. I see on Twitter Whelan being condemned for not bringing it up even though O'Sé was there too. Pretty sure the two lads aren't directing the show. DannyMcA (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 03/07/2017 12:13:16 2009539 Link 0 |
Just wait.... the photo is proof of clear intent to gouge. I can see a heavy retrospective ban coming down the road and rightly so theweanling (Cavan) - Posts: 414 - 03/07/2017 12:33:03 2009554 Link 1 |
https://www.sportsfile.com/id/1058468/ Ahem.... The Sunday Game glossed over it that night by saying it wasn't the time or the place. Superglue (Kerry) - Posts: 1283 - 03/07/2017 12:37:50 2009564 Link 0 |
looks like a definite gouge. Selective condemnation is right. dead_as_dodos (Carlow) - Posts: 459 - 03/07/2017 12:38:19 2009565 Link 1 |

where Donaghy was gouged by a Dublin player PMcM I think. Imagine indeed ;-)"]And the uproar on social media and HS that followed. Youve proved the OPs point. DannyMcA (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 03/07/2017 13:02:53 2009580 Link 1 |
That's not true, they did comment on it They said that they didn't want to talk too much about it as they didn't feel it was the time or the place but they did show it from numerous angles including slow motion and magnified close up. A picture speaks a thousand words. Granted they didn't do the judge/juror/execution piece on it but they did devote at least 2 minutes to showing the images of the eye gouge. Lets not forget that McMahon did get a suspension from this and lost out on a player of the year award due to his own bad discipline keithlemon (Australia) - Posts: 920 - 03/07/2017 13:31:45 2009607 Link 1 |
