When he joined pro rugby set up he obviously had to stop playing but when he was injured a few years back and out for quite a while he went and played a junior B league game for his club in Carlow

Played minor for Carlow also and despite his rugby commitments he was a selector on the Carlow senior team during Anthony Rainbow's otherwise forgettable term as Carlow manager about four years back.
