Setting him up for a big fall ! Undoubted talent but you could not put him in the same bracket as Callinan, Hogan, Reid yet. A lot more big games on big days first.

A lot of his scores come on the counter attack cos he hugs the sideline like a soccer winger.

As the season goes on teams will figure ways to stop Cork. If Clare moved O'Connor back out from corner back he'd give him a run for his money. Bugler might be a tad too old now but he'd be well up for it too.

In fairness to Lehane though, he did play well in both finals in 2013 and came Cork in it when Clare looked like pulling away.

OK eddie, you were ahead of the curve predicting a Cork resurgence and well done for that but don't get carried away with yourself.
Lehane was always a great talent and when he burst on the scene a couple of years ago, we all had great hopes for him.
However he seemed to lose his way a bit in last 2 years but recently especially in game against Waterford he really looked the part, and I think the change in position really suited him.
However to be classed a great you have to perform at this level for years, many things can happen to destroy careers, injuries being the obvious one,
It's early season, Cork have won nothing yet, Lehane is currently having ankle problems.
Hopefully he will be back fully fit for Munster Final & hopefully he will have another great game but let's keep our powder dry until then.
There seems to be a genuine feeling of goodwill from GAA Fans countrywide towards Cork at the moment which is nice to see. It wasn't always so, however you seem determined to singlehandedly get up the noses of other supporters & turn them off Cork which is sad and unnecessary.

Don't forget Joe Canning. To my mind, he is the best hurler of the last 10 years and that includes Shefflin and Co.
Galway are current All Ireland favourites, and rightly so.
Hopefully, we'll see some more great displays from Canning and Conor Lehane.
Tipp and Kilkenny still lurking in background...this year's hurling is best in years...with resurgent Cork and Wexford.

Looking back on my posts....accurately predicted Cork resurgence. Kieran Kingston has done wonders for this team.

Replying To therealtmo: "Cork will have to come up with a complete different game plan for Waterford. The middle will be so packed the next day they won't be able to get the free puck outs they got yesterday. looking forward to the semi finals already Limerick and Clare should be a great game also"
My reply:
Remember the league game this year in Walsh Park? Cork crowded out midfield and beat Waterford handily. I thought that was their best game this year.
I think Cork can grow in confidence...some tightening up and more man marking in half back line, and I can see real progress with this team.
Very good depth in the bench. ...Lorcan McLoughlin, Luke Farrell and Michael Cahalane.
I see Galway coming out of Leinster.....In fact will be hard to beat this year.
The Qualifiers will be a minefield.

Lighten up Corkcelt.
Blackrockeddie may be a little over the top...but he balances up the ultra negative Cork posters I have encountered on this website.

Enjoy the game and the moment.

A very good player. As skillful as anybody around.

Cork have won nothing of course. We need a win in Croke Park to be considered back. We have only managed that once this decade. That will be the be the test.

It's a delight to watch Conor Lehane collect the ball on the left wing...because odds are that he will knock it over the bar from that position.
To me...anything Cork win is a bonus....I enjoy the game of hurling, fully appreciate the great job this Cork management team has done with the team.
It will take a very good team to beat them....and we all know that those teams are out there. Still..we are in with a few games of an All Ireland final...the team is a delight to watch... play an expansive, open game of hurling.Tighter defence than I've seen in years...
Nash is the best goalkeeper in country...the blossoming of an incredible half back in Mark Coleman...and if the 6 forwards click on same day...look out. Roll on the hurling season.

Fans like you give the rest of us a bad name. No doubt Lehane has played superb but we've only played 2 championship games this year. Come back in August with this topic.

Hopefully, by August we'll have lowered Clare's banner, and will be firmly crowned as King's of Munster. I wonder if Man Utd supporters worry about what Liverpool or Arsenal supporters think of them?
