A couple of points
1.O'Moore Park about 65% full . Dr Cullen Park could have coped easily

2. About 10k Dublin and 3/4k Carlow That represents less than 1 of population, where Carlow support comes in around 6%. So very poor support for a great team.
3. although Carlow resistance petered out when Murphy was sent off and Fenton released they came out of the game with plaudits and hopefully are set up for good run in backdoor.
4. Big similarities with Connolly and Murphy. Two ultra talented players but temperament ets them and their team down.

Game scheduled against the Champions League Final. Considering that, it was a good crowd for a game that everyone knew was a foregone conclusion.

In fairness there didn't look 3/4 thousand Carlow in the ground. I would say 2 thousand max.
Game should have been played today or Monday as with both travelling it would have added 5thousand easy to the crowd, the persistance in putting dublin quarter finals on bank holiday Saturday night's really makes no sense.
only reason I can see is tv is dictating this.
championship matches on Saturday night's don't work, they even wasted money in having the floodlights on for the entire game when it didn't get dark till a half hour after the whistle for full time.
