Cork, in one word....BRUTAL! No surprise there. Not taking from Waterford who were well capable of taking a Cork scalp this evening. The dogs of the road know this manager is well out of his depth for inter-county duty but players have to stand up and be counted when you have to depend on a player in the twilight of his career to come to the rescue. The League proved exactly where Cork currently stand, Div 2 or even Div 3. eaglehaslanded (Cork) - Posts: 135 - 27/05/2017 20:55:55 1991304 Link 0 |

We were on a hiding to nothing playing Waterford. The next day we'll be on hiding from Tipperary. Just as well as I am tired of hidings from Kerry. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 27/05/2017 22:15:54 1991322 Link 1 |

corks last manager was a very capable guy.he had cork hopping with a similar squad to what they have now.they got rode out of beating kerry by a bad ref and even in the qualifiers were in very hard luck. but as usual in cork politics intervened and he got removed.they deserve all they get down there.lets hope tipp give them a good trimming.!! tho i see evan comerford is in a bit of trouble..it wouldnt see the light of day in kerry!! kavvie (Clare) - Posts: 505 - 27/05/2017 22:33:44 1991326 Link 0 |
Things have to hit rock bottom in Cork before they get better. Everyone in Cork bar the County Board knew that Cleary should have got the job. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 27/05/2017 22:54:26 1991328 Link 0 |

Counihan...great player...undecisive and bewildered notwithstanding 2010......Tompkins....arguably best ever player for Cork...should have won '99 final (no Corkery).....Billy....first coming passionate and great side 89 & 90 (Kerry football dead and gone)...second coming ....well ? ......Current man out of his league.....answer......import and look West for a candidate!!!

Nab Jack O'Connor from under their noses?? I couldn't see it happening but he'd be a serious coup for cork if they did manage it.

Well he looks to be set for a return to Kerry senior management from listening to any of the talk coming out of the kingdom. He must be doing something right!

Jack of connor is overated his time in Kerry coincided with a golden generation for the county. On the most recent evidence in charge of the 21's he has been average at best. He was tactically very poor against Galway. Liam Kearns should be given the chance rather than looking to the past.
