Kildare v Laois

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Haven't seen a thread for this one yet, anyways.

Half the Laois team to be checking in at Dublin airport on the bank holiday Monday for their annual trip to the US.

Roll on Louth in the semi.

:)

Think that's the minor championship you're getting confused with.

Kildare are that good they shouldn't even have to play Laois or Meath we should just grant them a final birth before the start to take on the dubs...:-) :-)

On a serious note I can't see Laois getting close to them its division 1 v division 4 at the end of the day.Kildare have a great record on their neighbours aswell but it could be a game worth going to in Tullamore as it usually provides plenty of excitement and action!

To be fair at the start of the year it would have been a division 2 side against a division 3 side so not a whole lot of difference at times there.

You could say we were lucky to get a draw with them in 2015 before hammering them in the replay. Overall though we've a pretty good record against them at all levels over the last few years so I'd be surprised to see that change any time soon.

Always a good match, Kildare done great in the league, Laois not so much, Laois had a good win to Longford. Going for a Kildare win though.
Kildare 3+

Wouldn't take Laois lightly at all. They have really good forwards and a decent midfield. Not so sure about their defence. Think it could be a shoot out as our forwards are the best we've had in years.

I agree Conleth,Laois are always a decent champ.team. League form won't matter one whit. This is set up for Laois imo so Kildare would want to tread warily.

Laois finished bottom of division 3..So one would say Kildare should win this handy enough !

But looking at the Laois game the weekend i though Laois played some fantastic stuff and looked fairly fit ,if you take a closer look at the Laois squad on paper they have very very good footballers and no way should they be playing division 4 football next year but they are !

The way leinster football is Laois could make it to the leinster final ...look at Westmeath back to back leinster finals 2015/16 and getting relegated in each season during the league !

Laois are better than their league form suggests, they gave a decent performance against Dublin in championship last year, Kildare are much improved this year on last year but are still capable of on 'off day'. But they put some gritty performances in during the league, Midfield will be key and if Moolick & Feely perform well, Daniel Flynn, Neil Flynn and Niall Kelly will do damage in forward line

really good point about westmeath and possible laois comparisons.

Dont think it would be a huge shock. A lot of people judging Laois on league performance but they're a different side with players back and some new blood. There won't be much in it.

Really Fancy Laois to win at 9/4.
League form is irrelevant

Neill Flynn out for 6 weeks, add Ben McCormack to that and that's both corner forwards ruled out.

How can league form be completely disregarded? Even if Laois are better than their legaue form, and I believe they are also, they are still well behind Kildare on current form. Add to that, the fact they haven't beaten Kildare in quite a few years then surely you would have to believe that Kildare are firm favourites.
