Ahh I can't wait. The one problem? The venue. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 21/05/2017 18:09:27 1988886 Link 1 |
Going to be good match, one of my favorite rivalries, but it's a friendly enough one. Expect a hard match nothing will be easy about it but have to go for Meath win. I look forward to it. oakleafersir (Derry) - Posts: 808 - 21/05/2017 18:18:52 1988894 Link 0 |
Yeah despite 10, its a friendly rivalry, unlike some of our other ones, :). I like Louth ever since I lived in bettystown, down to earth people and id gladly shout for them against any other county.

They always do against Meath ziggy. I dont know what it is about them but as soon as they see the green and gold they are like men possessed:). That been said it will have to be a huge improvement on yesterday.

it would their all Ireland as far as they are concerned. That is all they have been talking about. I hope there is a strong ref and puts up with no cynical stuff

You fear Louth more than Kildare? Are you really for real. If Meath have any realistic aspirations of getting to a Leinster final then we should be winning this game with a bit to spare RoylerKing (Meath) - Posts: 809 - 22/05/2017 10:18:06 1989186 Link 0 |
Expect Louth to win this, WEE are getting the exact same fabric from O Neills that the Cork Hurlers wore yesterday and seemingly this Magic Cloth will give us the Powers to bate the ould enemy........ just like yesterday. Ah Louth v Meath. This is the real battle of the Boyne. Not that 1690 nonsense. Louth have not beaten Meath since 1975 in the Championship. Royaldunne is right about Louth. When the WEE men see the Green jersey's of Meath, Louth always put it up to them. Even when Meath were winning All Ireland's in the 1980's and 1990's Louth always gave Meath one hell of game. I'm living right on the border so it adds to that extra spice. Louth and Meath is a very special rivalry and one that goes back a long time. It was at it's height in the late forties and early fifties. Between 1947 and 1954 the Leinster football championship was won by either Louth or Meath. They played each other 13 times in the Championship during that golden period. Since Louth's last win over Meath in the Championship, the Royals have won the last nine championship matches. But despite this there is not much to separate both of these sides in terms of Championship. They have played each other 45 times in the Championship. Meath have won 20 times, Louth have won 19 times and there are 6 draws. The last time there was a draw in the Championship between Louth and Meath was in 1951. Meath won the replay. If the unthinkable did happen and Louth pulled of a famous win, there will not be a cow milked in Drawda for a month. I for one cannot wait for this one. Can wee do it? Yes wee can? A major improvement needed on yesterday's performance. Up the Wee County! An Lu Abu! OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 22/05/2017 10:46:30 1989206 Link 1 |
Ah Pretender I smell fear. Getting the excuse's in early haha. All jokes aside of course it's our All Ireland. What do you expect when wee have not beating you's in 42 years in the Championship? Louth will have to put in the performance of a life time to beat Meath. It should be one hell of a match.

Good man Royaldunne. How is she cutting? I was talking to your buddy Bernard Flynn yesterday in the clubhouse. He was asking for you.

Is the PK curse still in place Ollie ...... it states that Meath wont win another Delaney until The Wee County win one. It could take a while. kikfada (Louth) - Posts: 2091 - 22/05/2017 15:07:57 1989409 Link 0 |

It sure is Kikfada. Its a pity he retired from Inter County. How wee could do with him against the Royals. Looking forward to this Battle of the Boyne clash.

Yes but that extra game will be a help to Louth. A competitive game under their belt but a first day out for Meath. Meath with a bit to spare all the same. poguemahone (Dublin) - Posts: 365 - 22/05/2017 16:00:05 1989438 Link 0 |
It's a pity this one is not live on tv as it is a good rivalry and between 2 sides who look to be going in the right direction. Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 22/05/2017 16:06:54 1989443 Link 0 |
Its derby day that day with Armagh playing Down at 2.00 pm and Kildare playing Laois at 3.00 pm. The Armagh and Down match is probably on TV so they could of showing ourselves and Meath or Kildare and Laois on TV at 4.00 pm.

only an advantage of you learn from it or beat a decent team imo. seen meath play fairly weak sides before they would play a stronger side and has been no advantage.
