While Waterford v Tipperary could go either way, its hard to see anything than a Kilkenny win in the other semi. Cork may stick with them for 50 mins, but then all of Kilkenny's class will come to the fore, and they will win by at least seven points. For most neutrals it would be wonderful to see Waterford win an All Ireland, but sadly I just can't see this current crop of Waterford players achieving the holy grail. Its awful to think that men like big Dan, Tony Browne, John Mullane, Ken Mc Grath etc will never win a Celtic cross, but they had the misfortune to be around at the time of the greatest Kilkenny team ever and to a lesser extent Cork as well. While its scant reward for their efforts, all of these great men have provided wonderful entertainment for hurling supporters for the last decade, but its another Kilkenny v Tipperary final for me. gilly0512 (Galway) - Posts: 1176 - 30/07/2010 09:30:01 729091 Link 0 |

Ya i think Kilkenny v Tipp alright. Waterford v Tipp will be very tight but Tipp will be wary after getting caught out by them 2 years ago and that should be enough. It's sad how much Tipp have regressed from last year however. banner_boy (Clare) - Posts: 1285 - 30/07/2010 10:59:30 729196 Link 0 |

Mentally Tipp wont fear Kilkenny. The question is are we mentally prepared for Waterford first. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 30/07/2010 19:31:43 730067 Link 0 |

Kilkenny to reach the final no doubt but I fancy Waterford aginst Tipperary the premier boys dont seem to be playing with the same flair as last year and Waterford will be confident after their Munster win, Deise to reach the final. Kilkenny are obviously raging favourites not alone to hammer Cork but to go on and win the 5 in a row. They probably will win their 5 in a row o.k. but I think anyone writing Cork completely off are foolish. We had a decent National League, good opening win against Tipp ok wins against Limerick & Antrim. The Munster Final was only decided by a single score in extra time after a replay. I was at both games and felt Cork could have won the first and should have won the second. If Kilkenny do have an off day, If the ref stands up to them, a red card or an injury to Sheflin or Tommy Walsh and who knows. I'm certainly not conceding the game, I'm pragmatic about our chances but it is most certainly not a hopeless cause. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 30/07/2010 20:56:19 730133 Link 0 |

If the ref stands up to them, I fail to see the reason behind that comment and if Shefflin or Walsh got injured or "red card" as you say well it appears the cats have plenty on the bench full capable of taking their place which is the undoubted reason for their success, no place is gauranteed. its not a hopeless cause at all a lot will depend on which tactic cork deploy for years now kk have put 7 men on the half back line for pucouts and nobodys come with a plan to deal with that ? i hope for corks sake we play 15 vs 15 because trying to crowd out the kk fowards by bringing an extra man back will be sucide. niall mac is playing the hurling of his life and hopefully he can stop the major launching pad for kk attack tommy walsh .also ray ryan good in the air and competitive should be accomadated in midfield if s og is fit move naughton to half f cussan on edge of square and aisakie on bench as impact sub cork will need goals and if they compete every position like 04 5/1 isnt a bad price. booboo (Cork) - Posts: 1382 - 30/07/2010 21:16:40 730164 Link 0 |
