He will give an honest and unbiased performance.

Will he make mistakes? Almost certainly. Gaelic Football, at this level, is almost impossible to referee perfectly for 75 or so minutes.

I would like him to let the game flow more than he tends to. Far too fussy with the notebook.

He had his good name severely questioned in the media by James Horan back in 2012 and was shamefully targeed for years on social media since 2011

He's had some very questionable performances since all off the back of all that negative attention

All every GAA person wants is a final where the ref has his best game and uses his linesmen and umpires to help him have his best game, for far too long people have being complaining about refs or incidents where he got things right or wrong, now I'm not little Joe's biggest fan, far from it but the decision has been made and he has got the job, now he has to get on with the game and ignore managers, players, former players, supporters and media pundits and the crap they come out with in the days leading into a big game. If a team is good enough then they should win regardless of what the ref does or doesn't do unless he makes a horrible decision and sends off half the team

Is it true that he has refereed internal games at Dublin training sessions? That would be the only problem I would see with him in charge of true. If it is true, Mayo should demand he come down to Castlebar before the final and referee on of their A vs B games in training.

Sure lots of people do nowdays but how would Dublin feel if the AI ref had lived and worked in Mayo.
