Not sure of the reason for this. It was the same for the Laois and Armagh games last month.

You have a serious chip on your shoulder. While I agree with you in this instance you look for any chance to put hurling on a pedestal elevated over football. For me the logical reason for the hurling being on first was to allow supporters from sligo a chance to get down to the midlands. It's only over the road from KK to Offaly.

Carlow v Laois is set to be an exciting derby on Sunday with Laois needing to win but Carlow would love nothing better than beating their big rivals(Laois would consider themselves more rivals of Offaly or Kildare)

Carlow at 11/4 are a serious price I know they have nothing to play for but Laois are still missing a few key players!

You're being unfair on keeper who is always fair and knowledgeable. Hurling is his game but I took it as an honest question and not a slight on football. Anyway you gave a logical reason there gotmilk. I would say the hurling was played first because of the poor conditions. The pitch would be cut up badly if the football was played as the curtain raiser?

I can understand why Carlow are 11/4 though as they may see this as an opportunity to rest players especially when both sides could meet again in the final a week later.

Gordon Elliott would be a better option than Graham Geraghty who has had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus and nothing to show for it yet you expect him to be next Meath manager!

Ah I've got the Ballinabrackey Bettystown Mullingar man all riled... I'm from Meath so maybe I have something got to do with the county? My club is Wolfe Tones but see if you had any clue about Meath GAA you would know what my username represents. Keep embarrassing yourself as you're giving everyone on here a good laugh.

I don't think posters should be so hard on Meath simply because one poster, RD, goes out of his way to annoy and insult posters from other counties. Most other Meath posters have disowned him long ago. Hopefully Meath stay up and begin the long climb back to the top."
Good post.

We never owned him though. I'm worse for responding to him.

We badly need to win on Sunday. I'm hopeful but our record against Ulster teams is woeful.

Not at all. No tones man would ever degrade Meath football the way you do phoney.

GG saved Duleek from relegation in 2016 and got Westmeath club Castledaly to a SFC quarter final one year so he has a proven track record as a manager do you not think?

I hate to disappoint you but you haven't shown me up. Trust me of all the trolls I've had over the many many years I have been on hs, you are definitely near the bottom. I actually find you funny, you only really post about me, where as a good wum would vary his approach. I actually find your fascination with my good self , highly amusing, if you need tips on getting under people skin look at the likes of clondalkindub, mes, the great patrique (rip) waynol1, kingdomboy , or indeed look at myself and how easily I get under people's skins, (including yours). If you want a long memorable experience on hs you really need the vary your attacks

Everyone would have left at half time if the football was the opening game on Monday. The hurling was first to make most use of the ground conditions, pitch not cut up by having game ahead of it.

Hopefully Meath can stay in divsion 2. Down v Meath , one of these 2 counties will play in divsion 3 next year. Its a long long way back to the top for both
I just want to say Im taking a break from the forum. I have enjoyed writing here. It been great.I do apologise for my long winding messages or should I say essays . I do a little to much nostalgia as wel. Need to improve on that.
Anyway go easy on the rest of the Meath contributers as the next few week might be tough for us. But keep up the great debate and discussions. To all the mighty and great gaels here. Hopefully it will be a great summer of football and hurling. Peace.

*** Again, Can I appeal to posters to stop making this a Meath Club/County thread***

With one round of games left can we focus on that? I know in Division 3 where my own county is plying their trade, it is coming down to a winner takes all for the final promotion spot and last league final spot. A home game for Longford V Fermanagh it should be a war of attrition to attain the promotion.

Being slightly biased, I feel we let automatic promotion and top spot slide by us having slipped up only drawing against Sligo and having a referee screw us over for a win if not a draw up in Armagh. Having said this if we do get promotion this will represent a significant step forward for us having played well and improved this year with lots to build on for the championship.

Any thoughts on how ye guys are looking Fermanagh posters?

I love seeing stuff like this on forums.

A poster posts constant one-eyed nonsense and then other reasonable posters gradually start pulling them up on it and instead of taking it on board they flip to the darkside and start believing their own hype and label everyone trolls and get serious notions of themselves.
