Michael Meehan

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Back issue could be career ending or a simple spasm....horrible at the time but can be resolved with a couple of physio sessions. Very hard to know.

Haven't seen him in the flesh so wouldn't like to write him off. Depends on pace and movement he is showing in training really. Anyone watching training know how well he is going??

Either way he seems to be the type of person that would be a real positive influence on the squad.

Thats great news, with from his severe injury problems over the years, i admire him in his willingness to return and give it one last shot. I woulkd love to win another Connacht for him and as posters said before if the Mayo game is in the melting pot put him in full forward on Ger Cafferkey, Their will be only one winner!!

Great news that it wasn't serious even if he wasn't part of the Galway panel. After battling back against a serious injury itd be awful to see him pick up another one

Announced on Tribesmen Gaa this evening that Michael has retired from inter county football. Fair play to him for coming back and giving it a go, a pity Kevin Walsh only saw fit to give him 3/4 mins.. Thanks Michael..

Best of luck to Meehan. A pity the injuries means we only saw flashes of his brilliance in inter county but still he has a club All Ireland. That game in the rain v Kerry was a stand out game Freon
Him for me as well as that goal v cork.

Thanks for the memories, Michael, gentleman on and off the field. Speaking of class acts, does anyone know where Cormac Haslam is at? A natural keeper with the reflexes of the great Johnny Geraghty. I know he wasn't first choice on u-21, but from what I saw at minor level, he was a class apart!!

Michael was a credit to club and county. An inspiration to a generation of footballers.
Good luck to him in his retirement.
