Replying To Jack_Goff:  "I was very impressed with the Cork support in round 1 vs tipp. A lot of doom and gloom surrounding them but the fans turnout out big time. And their turnouts against Waterford, clare and Waterford again were all very impressive.

It's a pity more counties like tipp, Waterford, clare and limerick don't have cities the size of Cork. Every munster championship match would be sold out if they did."
Limerick bring big support to every match. They brought over 40 000 to an All Ireland semi v Clare a few years ago. I'd say we are in the top 3 supported hurling teams in Ireland

An official attendance of 16,226 at the Cork County hurling final today is a serious crowd for a county final. Will or was it surpassed at any other county final?? Who would even be closest??

It was part of a double header with the football final replay between nemo and barrs which had a big crowd on its own last weekend for the drawn game so not like for like with rest of county finals.

Was that a doubleheader with the football replay?

Replying To Chops:  "How many Mayo supporters are attending their local club games now that the dust has settled? I work with 4 guys who are Mayo men and religious Mayo supporters and who know their county team inside out. When I asked each of them a couple of weeks ago what teams were left in the Mayo senior championship they couldn't answer me, and 2 of them didn't even know how many teams were in the senior championship nor how many groups they were divided into. Where are the thousands who spend a fortune on season tickets, travel, accommodation and food to follow the county through league and championship?"
Have attended 6 club games since the All Ireland final including today's county final. Mayo club games are generally well attended.

We had close to 30,000 in 2004 between Na Piarsaigh and Cloyne. Today was not spectacular at all. In fact Cork GAA made a balls of opening ceremony.

ah no not intended as a gloat - just to show what a magical journey weve had since last year, this time last year we were chuffed to bits to win the 21s, -none of us had a clue what was to come , nobody could have convinced me at start of year we would be all ireland champs , all our dreams have been answered and more

You got to have a dream. If you don't have a dream. How you gonna have a dream come true?
I can't remember what musical it was a lyric from.
