I disagree the trophy is not Dublin's we all knew how it worked from the get go, whoever wins the league final in Croker are league champions end of.

Lads i hope the incident that is being muted involving Phillip Ryan and Paddy McBrearty during yesterdays game is not true ................... If so an absolute disgrace and the lad should recieve a ban no less than 12 months!!!!

if you take a league final away people like jim mcguinness will realy have more and more comments diminshing the value of the league.
if they had of marketed the semi finals there is scope there to get 40 thousand into croke park on sunday for the double header which would be a great success.

I would love to win the league. I'm sure everyone in Kildare would. McGeeney has even stated that we won't be resting the Under 21's despite it being six days before the Galway game. Still a Dublin Tyrone final must be very short odds. Really looking forward to Sunday though, hopefully should be two close games.

Exactly, This happens in loads of other sports. The AFL Grand final, the play-offs in the lower divisions in English soccer, the Superbowl, World Series, the Magners League, Super 15, etc... All finish with a big final where teams who possibly finish lower in a league system can walk away with the big prize.

As you said, they didn't change the competition format half-way during the competition. Kildare rested players yesterday, now of course we may have lost anyway, but if we thought we were playing to finish top I'm sure we would have experimented less. Same as Westmeath yesterday. Maybe Dublin would have been more focused yesterday to win if they were playing for a trophy. I'm sure there's plenty of other matches where similar things have happened. Tables are partly the way they are because of the competition format. No point harping on about it after the fact.

Hi guys,

Apologies in the delay in getting this up. Here's tactical analysis of Mayo's win in Cork where I liked a lot more about Cork than most.
