My post should obviously we should not be reliant on the Under 21's to carry the team.

Also omaghredhand I'm not sure you can really count the Dublin defeat as a "home" game. But you're right about us now knowing what to work on.

Watching the Mayo - Donegal game today, thought it was a very error ridden game but one thing I noticed was on a few occasions after loosing the ball, some Donegal players put the hands on the hips and stood back. If that was last year or the year before they would be busting a gut to get back.

It doesn't bode well for later in the season, you can cut out the mistakes etc. but its harder to change the players mindset.

It looks like the semi finalists are settled, you'd expect Cork to retain 4th playing Down in their final round even though Down will probably give it socks, plus Cork have a good record against Down.
Its interesting because the three other teams fighting out pf relegation are all playing teams with nothing to really play for as Dublin, Kildare and Tyrone have all qualified for the Semis. Kerry need a win with their poor points difference and should fancy themselves with 2 wins in a row, I'd fancy Donegal to beat us aswell as we should rest a few players.

Agree re attitude of donegal players, so who in semis? Dublin Tyrone, and who else?

Great to see Marty Duffy punish the cynical fouling of Donegal today!

Disappointing result for Kildare. Wasn't at the games but the stats on the radio were crazy. 16 missed shots in this second half between wides & shots dropped short by Kildare. So I suppose while people have said we were lucky to win some of our previous games by the same measure Tyrone were lucky today. A lot of changes in the forwards but it's imperative that O'Connor, Leper and Smith get as much game time as possible. Right now we are unbelievably reliant on the Under 21's. The senior forwards coming in right now are not playing at a level they are capable of. It should be down to Kelly, Flynn, Brophy or even Hurley and Cribbin today to carry the team.

Still a semi-final beckons which almost certainly be against Dublin as we are guaranteed third (Dublin need to get a better result in Donegal than Tyrone do in Kerry to move out of second). Another match-up in Croke Park will be very strange that close to the championship.

I was slightly surprised that we got such a commanding lead doublehop and to be honest I think a lot of the wides and dropped short shots were a case of hit and hope in the latter part of the game.

It was a shame to see the All Ireland champions being so poor today against a limited Mayo outfit, Jimmy cannot win matches in both Glasgow and Donegal it seems.

My apologies lads, I thought Down were playing Cork. I think Down will have a better chance against Kildare but I'd fear for Mayos safety a bit now. I'd probably prefer have Kerry or Donegals games.

@Mayoboy1

To be fair it was the same each way, each team had 7 yellows and 1 red. There would have been about 5 or 6 black cards that game.

Kildare now also automatically qualified though I can understand you of all people struggling to get your head around that.

I thought Michael Murphy was poor today and didn't look fit for a player on his day is one of the best. Just saying Muck not an attack just an honest opinion. How the hell did Mayo lose to Kildare? I can't get my head around that one , for me Kildare are a poor team (there U 21's coming tru will change that in the coming years) but Mayo for me are very good and are serious contenders this year.
