"put in more forums with a separate forum for different areas ie have a forum for national leagues/championships as well as competition formats/club competitions"

Where is the money to set-up and administrate all this extra work, going to come from?

"like what happens on other sites"

As if all sites are equal in finances and resources.

is this not a news website that has a forum on it. surely advertising etc from that would make this site much more likely to have greater finances and resources than out and out forum websites with none of those sites.
Would this website not have managers or tech staff who manage the site? Could they not sub contract out to a developer to do improvements.
Other sites can manage it and some have users whove volunteered time and skills to help improve the site including finance.
Why would there be all extra work to administer a new updated site?
You would have same amount of moderators maybe a few more could be appointed

any other website can manage it with ad revenue etc. some also have subscription service available to assist with income.

why would there be extra admin costs? Be it mods. well do what other sites do and primarily have volunteers modding the forum with paid staff managing the tech side of things with overall management of the site

Have you been in touch with HoganStand about your ideas? They might offer you a job - on a
consultancy basis. You're wasting your time on this forum, bandying opinions with the likes of me.

Do you not think the forum would be better if it had better set up in place?

What exactly are you asking?
Lots of forums get input from users on updates. boards.ie does for one

You are so sanctimonious
What would you do to improve the site?
As format needs to change to really improve it as its so outdated.

Depends what you're looking for in a forum.

No need to apologise. If it wasn't understood then why was there 2 replies. Some individuals just want attention.

that thread isnt evidence of much and certainly isnt poor from boards. its set up allows better discussion. could you imagine this site if you had that structure in how to post and private messaging. a search function etc

I do post elsewhere as well. You just are in vacuum if you stick to one place.
Most people have never really used other websites that are developed much more extensively with better features.
Many may be happy with hoganstand as it is but all im looking for is for things on majority of other forums and if you show hoganstand to regular users of other forums they state how poor and outdated the look of the site is

You don't like the site, which is perfectly fine and legitimate but there's no need to force your option onto every single person that has replied to this thread.

If I don't like a supermarket, I just go to another. I don't wait outside the entrance to tell people, 'Go to CrazyPrices instead, they have a claaaass frozen food section'. I just accept that other people have different views.
