What Club In Cavan Has Been At The Top For The Past 30 Years

I just wonder if you Hoganstand ran an online poll in relation to viewers/readers think what club has done most for Gaelic football in Cavan for the past 30 years.
I know that immediately people will say that the Gaels have been the top club but that is only at Senior level, sure the had to amalgam with Killygarry to field underage teams. I think that to look at the Gaa as ahole in a club, It would be exciting to see an online poll and the results

I have been accused of anti-Gowna bias on a few occasions but I would be inclined to go for them as the top club of the last 30 years.

The Gaels lead 10-6 on Senior Titles during that period, however are much more active in the transfer market, and to get to 6 Senior titles using only players from your own relatively small parish I think is a remarkable achievement for Gowna.

I would definitely have The Gael in joint at least joint 2nd in this poll alongside Mullahoran if it was me just me voting in the poll.

Honourable mentions then to Castlerahan 2010-19 for their consistency and the Bailieboro Shamrocks squad of 1995 for mustering the only legimate go at the Ulster Senior Title during this 30 year period.

Pat I like your lead in where you credit the Gaels to lead 10 to 6 and then you pull the rug out by saying the the poor Gaels top the league in the transfer market.
Well Pat I can tell you if the Gaels Club agreed to take all the fellows including County panellists who longed to play in Terry Coyle park were to transfer to the Gaels we would be some force in Ulster .
Just to correct you about Gownas exploits with home grown members I seem to remember a high profile Londonderry man among some Gowna teams

I would forgive / excuse you if you were Tom 1948, but 84 you are living in the past ,, It is indeed Londonderry but for pronouncement reasons it is called Derry or as the oval ball followers called it City of Derry. But back to the salient point the Gaels have been to the top for probably past 20 years .. Indeed nobody has touched them for performance, support,, and a classy style of football in all those years

Indeed one would have to commend the Gaels on their ability to bring through talent. Just this weekend they had a 30 year midfield colosuss fielding kickouts like he had been a mainstay of the great Gaels team for years. To my suprise, I was informed by a Gaels fanatic towards the end of the game that it was indeed this 30 year old midfielder's Championship debut.

a late bloomer? or maybe one of the many who decided to return to football for one season only as it's a short year?

Sgoldrich you are poorly informed or badly mistaken ( or maybe a little of both) if you feel or think that Tomsmith is a wind up merchant,
I have you to know that I know my football and while listening over a number of years to the Imperial crew I have gathered that a lot of agro is directed towards Gaels supporters. I have followed the Gaels for alond number of years when Dermott Dalton, Aidean Elliot, Hauley Reilly and Gabiel was playing well for the Gaels. We Gaels supporters are proud people and I feel but for a few poor Referee decisions we would/could have won more County Titles and indeed maybe Ulster title.
So Mr Golderick just support the Gaels Cavans greatest Club
