Unfortunately there may be no inter county championship this season however if it does go ahead, teams will need about a month to six weeks of training so IF the inter county championship goes ahead, would it be wise to revert to straight knock out like the old days. Wouldn't be that awkward for football, but if it was knockout in hurling they would either have to bring back the old qualifier system from 2017 or have the Munster winners play the Leinster runners up in the AI semi finals, to give the season some extra length and fairness eoghan6688 (Galway) - Posts: 154 - 16/03/2020 15:07:38 2273992 Link 0 |
With Neutral venues for all games, as teams will have only one chance.

Not how it used to be pre-backdoor, is it ? And then you have both teams' supporters on the road. lionofludesch (Down) - Posts: 475 - 16/03/2020 15:53:45 2273996 Link 0 |
It all depends on where we are as a Country come Summer. I don't think there will be a shortage of options, with the Provincial Championships to the forefront.. Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1415 - 16/03/2020 16:20:59 2273998 Link 0 |

We've had civil wars going on and not done that. Admittedly, there wasn't a TV contract to consider in the 1920s........... lionofludesch (Down) - Posts: 475 - 16/03/2020 18:30:14 2274015 Link 0 |
That can work out the same as people in certain parts of both counties may be located nearer to the neutral venue anyway.
