Please, they wish, There is a Dubs poster up in their dressing room. The Al Blacks watched the game at the weekend for inspiration for Japan apparently, Kiwis are huge fans of Dublin's psychological approach to risk and playing the game expansively. Very interesting some people want to call Ex Pat organisation which have been making counties very rich for decades "cap in hand". It's so untrue and something people from the Mayo's, Donegal's, Kerry's want to keep ssssh. Look at the eye watering figures the Mayo organisation in America have raised and currently with holding. Evidence to show these organisations are certainly not and never have been "cap in hand". It doesn't suit the narrative when talking about Dublin's finance though. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 26/09/2019 10:27:51 2239313 Link 0 |
With Croke park pumping millions into dublin and irish American millionaires pumping hundreds of thousands into Kerry mayo and Donegal isn't it any wonder them counties have had the most success in the last decade, who says money doesn't buy success.

Money has a significant impact on success and something I think the GAA need to look at. You now need to be very wealthly to challenge at the top of the GAA. What isn't true though is Dublin's success was down to money. The reason I say that is all of Dublin's main challengers are extrembly weathly as the Mayo figures show - Kerry have an even larger ex pat system along with Kerry Group so these counties have no reason not to challenge Dublin. The problem is middle to lower ranked counties who simply don't have the finance to compete with the top 4 or 5 counties.

Club football obviously dead on its feet in the capital..just watching first semi final here and looks like about 500 in the ground....for a county that has won 5 in a row you'd think there would be more interest in its county semi finals..compare this to 7,000 at last weeks Mayo final and 9,000 at the Tyrone final mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 26/10/2019 17:23:38 2245956 Link 1 |
