Dublin 2015 - 2019

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We have seen good football teams in the past from Cavan and Wexford back in the day. The Dubs of the 70's, Down in the 60's and of course the Kerry 4 in a row team. However there can now be no debate to who is the best football team to ever play the game.

For a team to win 5 senior All Ireland's in a row is something we're unlikely to see again. It looks from the celebrations this was a target from a few years back - never seen Gavin smile as much. With the social media age this achievement will see Dublin GAA and this group of players rise to a new level and they're made for life after this.

They are now the powerhouse of football and their next target will be Kerry's 37. Also don't underestimate how much this will hurt Kerry - they have still a great tradition but can no longer claim to have produced the best team to play the game. This hurt almost brought Kerry to this All Ireland and I have no doubt Sam will head to the kingdom in the next year or two.

Congratulations to Dublin footballers and people should be prepared for films, books, documentaries for decades to come about Dublin 2015 - 2019 - the best ever!

Congrats to them, they are some team but I still totally disagree on the advantages of playing the majority of their games in Dublin and the amount of money that continues to be ploughed into the county from under age up to senior..

The lack of hype and buildup as well the reaction on social media says it all. 5 in a win, supposed to be special and nobody cares. Why?

It's a 100% tainted achievement.

Absolutely unreal achievement.

I am pleased that I can say I witnessed GAA sporting history made today, I never thought I would see 5 All Irelands in a row. Congratulations to Jim Gavin and his Dublin players. Looking at the post match celebrations, and see the Dublin panel and back room team meeting their supporters, young and old, shows they haven't lost touch with their fans. A delighted little girl in Diarmuid Connolly's arms, will have a moment to treasure in years to come. Nice one Diarmuid.

It was a great match, with two excellent teams showing high levels of skill and football ability. No doubt Kerry will be back. I thought both Paul Geaney and David Clifford played very well today.
The Dublin supporters as usual, showed their wit in a couple of funny banners.

History won't mention the jealousy from other counties - it will honour a great group of footballers.

Not jealous at all. Would rather win non tainted All Ireland's. You probably have great admiration for the achievements of Man City and PSG no doubt.

You dont have to worry about winning either to be honest.

Dublin's All Ireland's are not tained. Their dominance won't last forever. The only tained win I can remember was Meath in 2010 in robbing Louth...funny it was actually shown on TV after the All Ireland this evening.

You think Dublin will be less dominant in 2050 when they've a population of 2 million and even bigger financial clout?

Let's be real here Dublin will do another 5 in a row in our lifetimes and I'm certain next year becomes 6.
