Stephen O'Brien is no guarantee now after 2 quiet finals. Durcan and Boyle have a good chance for us. Don't see too many stand out half backs apart from McCaffrey.

Given the fact that Stephen Cluxton has never been awarded the POTY perhaps 2019 is the year for the GAA/GPA to introduce a new award called Player of the Decade and present that to Cluxton?

What he has done in this decade for Dublin and the GAA in general is nothing short of amazing.

Keoghan is excellent but unfortunately wont get one this year.

Cluxton, Fitzsimons, O'Sullivan, Durkan, McCaffrey, Moran, Fenton, O'Shea, Howard, Mannion and O'Callaghan are certs imo.

Cluxton
McNamee
Fitzsimons
O Sullivan
Keoghan
Boyle/Crowley/McHugh
McCaffrey
Moran
Fenton
Howard
O Shea
Durkan
Clifford
O Callaghan
Mannion

10/11 of these are nailed on, I think 2 in the half back line, 1 in the half forward and 1 in the full forward line are up for grabs.

McShane has to be the most unlucky, he was the front runner in the full forward line but I think Mannion and Clifford done enough all the way though the year however Con wasn't as great as a lot of people mention. Besides the second half against Mayo and yesterday's replay Mannion was Dublins go to player for most of the year.

Two average finals by O Brien will see him lose out to Howard and Durcan has to be in the half forward line as that's where he play most of the football this year.

For me Mannion has to be POTY.

I think it's the singular in just the one poster it seems.

Rory Deane from Cork put in some unreal performances. Won't get a sniff of an award but maybe should.

Great player but not even Kerry's POTY.

Cluxton deserves POTY. Not out of sentiment but sheer consistency and his influence to how games panned out.
His kick outs are well documented but he pullled off some top saves this year.

Conceded only one goal from play I think? Great stops in first game and a game changing save yesterday. A lot of teams tried the high ball in against Dublin but he dealt with them very well when he needed to.

2019 may have actually have been his best year of all.

It happens. Ryan McHugh as YPOTY in 2014 but didn't get an All Star.

He did well with that save BUT the lead up was slow and laboured. Where they did well on Saturday was in dragging down a Kerry player who almost certainly would have scored when they were within milliseconds of doing so. As with the rooting and tearing by backs to put players kicking long range points off their stroke, it seems that the GAA is as wedded to its Wild Wild West instincts as it ever was!

for the poster above will ya stop with the sour grapes kerry got all the decisions in the first half and you tell me a kerry player wouldnt do the same thing to stop that goal as the dubs did.
