No, can't see it. He gave two 10/10 performances v Meath and Kerry but Paddy Durcan got one over him in Castlebar and as a result of that and other strong performances from Durcan I think Durcan is nailed on to get one. Jack McCaffrey and Tom O'Sullivan are certs so for me that leave the other 3 defensive positions up for grabs. A lot will depend on the replay but good performances from Fitzsimons and Morley and they will have a great chance but as things stand you would have to fancy Keogan to get in. I'm not sure McCarthy has done enough and Cooper will find it difficult because of the poor performance in the draw.

Might not see any Donegal players getting one tbh which is a pity as Ulster Champions. Jamie Brennan was flying in Ulster but found the going tough in the Super 8's. Ryan Mc Hugh was excellent all year until the Mayo game where he was well out of it but he was exceptional against Meath.
The two contenders would be Patton and Murphy however Cluxton does deserve it after the two fine saves in the AI Final and if Murphy gets one they will have to find a place for him as Mc Shane should be nailed on for 14, Sean O' Shea for No.11 and probably Fenton and Moran for midfield.

1. Cluxton
2. O' Sullivan
3. Fitzsimons
4. Daly
5. Mc Caffrey
6. Keogan
7. Durcan
8. Fenton
9. Moran
10. O' Brien
11. O' Shea
12. Murphy
13. Clifford
14. Mc Shane
15. O' Callaghan

Mannion might possibly get one instead of Murphy if he has a big replay.

Will people stop with Shane Ryan in goal? He did well last Sunday but his kickouts were still suspect, 3 over the sideline. He was at fault for the decisive Mayo goal in League final and a very similar one v Cork. The nominations will be Cluxton, Ryan and Morgan. Cluxton will win because unlike last season, when Dublin walked through the championship without a glove being laid on them, he has been able to show how good he is. Speaking as a keeper I thought the penalty save has been over rated but the save from Murphy in 2nd half was out of the top draw. Interestingly this will be the first All Star that Cluxton has won since he stopped taking the long distance frees.

That plays for roscommon so he is a fellow countyman in my eyes.

Honourable mention to my two fellow county men who i hope get nominations Conor Cox and Niall Daly.

POTY Nominations
Sean O'shea
Stephen O'Brien
Jack Mccafery

I think Jack will get it and i hope Sean O'Shea gets young player he has been brillant all year. Might be a unpopular opinion but i think he gives alot more than clifford.

Heres looking forward to the replay"
I dont understand how people can have clifford in ahead of the likes of mannion he prob shouldnt have got one last year and i definately dont think he should get one this year.

Dont get me wrong he will finish up with 5 or 6 of them because he is a brillant forward but by no means the finished article

Clifford scored a couple of points the last day, got fouled for a penalty and a free, got his man sent off and set up a very scorable goal chance that was unfortunately missed. I don't know how much more the lad could do given how the game panned our. Of course he cant dominate like he did at minor level but a bit of perspective please. He has played a huge part in getting Kerry to where they are this year.

Mc Namee has to get an all star. One of the best backs in the country.

I would say Mannion is nailed on for one, been one of the best forwards this year no doubt

Also, as harsh as it may be to say but there is no way Murphy should get one this year, the only forward outside of Kerry and Dublin who should get one is McShane imo.

Yeah that is too harsh and McShane had one good game against a Division 1 team whereas Murphy had 3/4 good or very good games against same opposition. Heavy scoring against mainly Division 3/4 sides shouldn't guarantee an All Star.

Tyrone have to get an All Star and he's the logical choice. If McShane loses out, it will be to a Kerry or Dublin forward who puts his hand up in replay not Murphy. Replay makes non semi finalist chances even more remote.

Clifford is great footballer and the media love him. The latter is far more important when the All Stars are being handed out. In truth, he should need an outstanding replay to get the award because he was average enough in drawn game. In reality, I'd say he's the first name on the list.

Cluxton
Byrne, Fitzsimons, O' Sullivan
Durcan, Boyle, McCaffrey
Moran, Fenton
Mannion,S. O'Shea, O'Brien
O'Callaghan, McShane, Clifford

That's my opinion on what the team should look like. Michael Murphy, particularly unfortunate not to make it but none of McShane or the two midfielders could be dropped to put him in ( if he had to go in, maybe ahead of O'Brien but he's not a wing forward so happy enough with my selection there). Other honourable mentions to Jamie Brennan, Tadhg Morley and Brian Howard. Should James McCarthy have a very good game in the replay he would go in ahead of Boyle but otherwise I reckon this is pretty much what we are looking at for the All-Star team.

Does Murphy deserve one over Howard?

Howard is a brilliant player for sure and another impressive display in the replay will seal it for him in all likelihood.
But with my Donegal hat on, I think Murphy would be most unfortunate to miss out. He has had yet another colossal year for us. Time will tell.

Murphy has had a colossal year but have donegal?
I know I know it's in an individual award but unfortunately it won't be decided that way, normally your county has to do pretty well aswell which I disagree with as it should just he on individual perofmaces alone.

Can't see too many bar Murphy Mcshane Boyle and Durcan (the main choices for me outside the final) maybe one or two more and possibly get Boyle out of there
