Kerry V Dublin

Could everyone talking about penalties read the rules. Aggressive foul in the large square. None were aggressive. 13 yard fees perhaps but what's done is done and both teams can prove themselves the better team regardless of the ref.

While I think dublin have room for improvement the same can be definitely said for kerry. Hoping for a great rematch.

Thank you; it's right though that Dublin now have a rival; a team who can play football opposed to the muck we had to witness in last years final. Thank god for Dublin and Kerry the two great football counties :)

Video shows him holding Clifford's hand. Dont know how people can argue with video evidence

good post, Gough had a bad day and it's ridiculous that he and his relatives are officials when Dublin play in an A.I. Final. Mother of God are there no refs from Connacht/Ulster? He is grand for neutral games.

Coopers second yellow was for persistent fouling not for that actual tackle....was added to the tick for the penalty foul, makes complete sense.Gough was a bit harsh on Kerry a couple times in the second half...O'Brien was blatantly fouled and possibly a penalty!

Kerry blew it big style today. If you can't beat Dublin when you have a generous ref and Dublin down a man for most of the game, you're sure as hell not going to beat them the next day out when you're back on a level playing field.

Yes, it is really difficult for teams from Connacht to win All Irelands. They often have to beat 16 men seemingly. Mayo and Galway are far too nice and mannerly if you ask me. Look at the way Kerry attacked David Gough before the match. Have you ever heard Mayo do same?

Kerry should have won that, got their tactics spot on. Dublin's main men weren't in the game.

they may well rue all the missed chances, Dublin will have learnt more from that today than Kerry.

oh good man buying into the usual nonsense...there was plenty of muck out there today...both sides getting 14 men behind the ball...cynical fouling in the middle third of the field...plenty of diving especially by kerry players...plyers going down with injuries to take the sting out of the game when the opposition were on top...so don't patronise us with the great football played by kerry and dublin...only for the sending off it kept kerry in the game..otherwise "dublin" would have strolled to a facile victory

Replying To Jonnycee:  "David Gough had an appalling game. Refs should have repercussions for poor performance. The level of inconsistency was terrible. Onr major incident was How was Tom o Sullivan left on the field when cooper walked."
Gough clearly refereed that game with the pre match Kerry criticism of him ringing in his ears.He shouldn't be let anywhere near an All -Ireland Final again.

i always thought a foul in the large square was a penalty regardless of its tone!

How in Gods name can the RTÉ panel say Kerry were great today. They played more half the match with an extra man. Should have had a man sent off & if it was a penalty for Kerry in the 1st half it should have been a penalty for Dublin in the 2nd half.
Today proved just how good Dublin are, out numbered and they still almost won. Unfortunately I don't think the replay will be anywhere as entertaining. I think Dublin in a landslide.
Also hoping Conor Lane is the man in the middle, best referee this year.

That was a foul but it was outside the box so a free not a penalty.

Puke football is now the prerogative of the so-called aristocrats! Blanket defences, 30 minutes of passes and soloing across the field, foot passes almost non-existent - I wonder why it's called gaelic football?

Very enjoyable game, especially considering it was a final.

I think that Gough had a good enough day at the office despite missing the kerry pend in the 2nd half. Gave a fresh air peno in the 1st so that kind of balances the books.

14 men v 15 also must be factored into this game in terms of how close it was.

I feel that Dublin will be much better the next day out.

Who will ref the next game?

The point for Dublin that was ruled out by HawkEye was the 1st time I've seen the ball shown inside the post and ruled wide. It's technology & I haven't much faith in it.
