Kerry probably deserved it better footballers but Tyrone has them in trouble first half . Football a funny game Kerry looked out of it at half time. But there subs made a huge difference. Strange game. Tyrone seemed in decent control at half time. Those three or four poor wides midway through the second half really seemed to deflate them. Clifford and Geaney got some excellent scores. Looking at the final unless Kerry tightened up on the restarts they won't have a chance against Dublin. Given Dublin that much of a platform would be impossible to deal with. Dublin will have too much probably in the end. From 8-15 both teams are close enough but Dublin have the better backs which will limit Kerry a little more. Don't think it's a foregone conclusion but at least on paper it looks the two best teams are in the final. I don't think Stephen O Brien will have too many sleepless nights about playing in the final. His black against Meath was very innocuous. I have said this before. The Ulster Council should lodge an official complaint but it won't get anywhere. Croke Park and the media have the final they want. Deegan most certainly kept Kerry in it for the first 15 mins of second half. The geaney sludden incident was huge, tyrone attacking and had a man taken dow. Result throw up followed by a soft free and point to kerry. Could have been black for geaney and a free in. That said, Harte was too slow making changes and then made the wrong ones. He needed to move when they were 3 up not 3 down. We were saying just before the goal Meyler and McGeary needed to be taken off. Hampsey ran out of legs too. Once sludden went off the quality ball inside dried up. Turnaround was about 30% down to kerry changes, 30% down to Harte getting it wrong, 40% to Deegan. Well done to Kerry, they are the better team and fully deserved to win, Deegan isn't a great ref but I don't think it's fair to say that he decided the game, Kerry decided the game by being a better team and playing better, simple as. The crowd (or lack of it) has to get a mention aswell in fairness, 33k turning up for an AI semi final between two div1 rivals is very poor. Finally Kerry now have the honour/horror of being thumped in the final by Dublin for the 5 in a row. I'd like to see them stop it but they haven't got a snowballs chance in hell unfortunately.
