A lot of Yerras coming from the Tyrone boys today :) westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 04/08/2019 21:26:35 2220875 Link 5 |
A lot and you know it. Would Kerry have got to whatever 16 or whatever semi's going though Ulster. No. Not a chance. But yes, looking forward to Sunday. Will be a great day. Might go into every pub and yell out TheHermit and see if anyone bites ;) We could enjoy a pint and discuss the the finer details of Dublin's gravy train ;) The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2087 - 04/08/2019 21:42:54 2220883 Link 1 |

A new Kerry team will be itching to get at Tyrone and lay down a marker for the next decade. Previous Kerry teams have been questioned in regards to their record against Ulster teams particularly Tyrone. Tyrone in the 00's was a freak team, something I doubt we'll see Tyrone produce again. Kerry are on the cusp of something very special and whilst whispered quietly in the Kingdom the sight of a Tyrone jersey in Croke Park will have them fired up. Kerry have the forwards, midfield and defence as well as the conditioning to play any way Tyrone want. They're also young and naive which will help against the expected cynical tactics Tyrone will bring - these Kerry boys strike me as honest guys who just want to play ball and won't let teams get into their heads. The only hope Tyrone have is the MH factor which can have an influence as we seen with Cody. It's a miracle the job he is currently doing with this Tyrone team - it won't be enough though as I see Kerry winning this very comfortably which to me will leave Tyrone asking questions of where they're going. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 04/08/2019 22:23:44 2220911 Link 1 |
Hoping for a Kerry win here. Should be a decent game. Looking forward to it. greysoil (Monaghan) - Posts: 965 - 04/08/2019 22:25:23 2220912 Link 2 |
Grand out another of these lads that likes to think Kerry's tradition is not all that because somehow we've been handed All Ireland's by dent of geography! Man If you want to blame geography for Tyrone's underachievement over the last 10 years feel free. Your also more than welcome to meet me for a drink, I'll be surely doing a bit of a pub crawl around the match and hopefully I'll be having a few celebratory pints this time next week ;D TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 04/08/2019 22:27:54 2220915 Link 3 |
I was trying to see myself as the over analytical critic but I watched highlights on Sunday game , I closed my ears to Tomás but listening to Conor Mc Manus and Ciarán Whelan as theythe glaring weaknesses and exposed them for what they are convinces me more than ever that Kerry are up against it. The goalie has not improved on what was there his kick outs were terrible.m The full back line was murdered by a leaving cert student and 'jack in the box'. David Moran is on his own, so I can see Mickey Harte target Moran and run at the centre of Kerry's defence he has the players to do it with I just can't see Kerry get past Sunday I hope they do but I concur with the views of the 'experts' there is loads of work to be done and little time to do it.

Having seen both teams this summer, I would say Kerry by 5. JoeSoap (Donegal) - Posts: 1432 - 04/08/2019 23:13:00 2220932 Link 0 |
Would like to see Tyrone win but I don't think they will; nothing against Kerry at all, great footballers. Tyrone struggle with fast players running at them and I think Kerry have the edge here. They have some very capable players who move the ball quickly in the front 6 and that will hurt Tyrone who can be opened up too easily. Tyrone can also be turned over in possession and are want to doddle on the ball at times with the slow, back and sideways stuff. If they do that against Kerry they will get punished harshly. If Tyrone are to win they have to move the ball forward quickly and put scores on the board because Kerry are a team who can most certainly score a lot. Kerry by 6-7 points. This is not a vintage Tyrone team. Ronan1989 (Donegal) - Posts: 81 - 05/08/2019 03:04:14 2220963 Link 1 |
I see this game as 50/50, and il be happy either way , if we're good enough we'll win and if not we'll have got great experience and we'll look forward to next years championship . Tyrone are probably further down the road in their development than we are so that'll give them the edge. gallarus14 (Kerry) - Posts: 127 - 05/08/2019 11:18:26 2221027 Link 2 |
Doubt if either of these teams are anywhere near as good as the teams from 10/15 years ago. It seems to me to be a 50/50 game and I would take Tyrone to win as the extra rest may help after a busy summer. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 05/08/2019 12:18:37 2221065 Link 0 |
I think this is tough to call. How will Tyrone handle the free scoring Kerry attack? Kerry have run up some pretty impressive tallies this summer. If they get an early run on Tyrone it will ask a big question of how Tyrone play the game. Recent years have not been encouraging for Tyrone when in these positions. That said I don't expect Tyrone to turn without a good plan to counter the Kerry attacking game. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they approach it. If they nullify Kerry and keep the scoring rate down, then I think they have the experience to dictate the game. Either way, I'm looking forward to what could be a great match. Really hard game to call. Can Tyrone stifle the Kerry attack, its a possibility you know. This Kerry team have huge potential regardless of this result, they are a young team and will only get better. I feel this has to be the year for Tyrone if they are going to lift Sam, they have an experienced team and have been knocking on the door for a few years now. I love the way that both Tyrone and Mayo embrace the qualifiers, says a lot about their character. Even as I type this post I keep changing my mind on who will win lol. I will go for Tyrone as I think their need is greater. Best of luck to both sides. Green_Gold (Donegal) - Posts: 1870 - 06/08/2019 10:04:53 2221457 Link 0 |
Kerry home and hosed here for me anyway. A sniff of a final and that's all that's needed. Can't see Tyrone holding the forwards. If the do it'll be up there with Mickeys greatest moments in charge. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 06/08/2019 11:03:45 2221496 Link 0 |
I would be going against what seems to be the popular narrative here, i think Tyrone are going to win this one. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 06/08/2019 11:30:44 2221515 Link 5 |
Following the Mayo v Donegal game, I get the feeling that the Donegal and Kerry forward lines were completely over-rated.Mayo snuffed out the Donegal attack and Tyrone are quite capable of doing the same to Kerry. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 06/08/2019 12:01:20 2221526 Link 0 |
Did Mayo snuff out the Kerry attack too?
