Gaa Rules That Don't Make Any Sense

Replying To Douglas_44:  "When an attacker gets surrounded by 3/4 defenders who are literally making no effort to tackle, only holding the attackers arms or any other way of preventing him from playing the ball, the attacker is always punished for over carrying. It happens in every game, it is not tackling!"
100% correct. This is the curse of modern day Gaa football and is 100% the referees fault as they are allowing illegal tackling. The rule book says you must tackle the ball or you can block a player with your arms. it does not say you can stand over a player and prevent him from getting up by pushing and or hitting him.
In rugby that is fine, in Aussie rules that is fine but it is not supposed to be allowed in GAA.

Agreed. Recently I saw and attacker with 3 defenders literally holding him. He could move or get rid of the ball as the defenders were holding him up and the ref blows for over carrying. Complete joke.

I'm not sure if this is a rule or if it's just the interpretation by the refs but it's to do with a player being fouled whilst an advantage is in progress. What currently happens is that the ref brings it back for the original free. I mentioned this on herea few years ago when the advantage rule was first introduced to GAA and some people said i was wrong (that refs didn't bring it back). but they are still doing it.
Time to stop this practice.

The foot block ???? . Why have a foul for that ??"
The ref brings it back for the orginal free only if no advantage accrues. It would be fairly pointless if he didn't, no?
A foot block is dangerous and we don't want players tackling with their feet though Eoin Murphy doesn't seem to have a problem with it in hurling! Though in fairness it wasn't actully a footblock against Wexford. His boot was clearly aimed at the knee and he couldn't have blocked the ball anyway because Rory O'Connor was striking it with the hurley at shoulder height at the time. And it's hurling anyway so the rules are a bit more "flexible".

here we go again... same thing happened the last time i posted about the advantage rule.
I know what SHOULD happen but what I am saying is that it is NOT HAPPENING. The refs ignore the second foul and bring it back for the original foul. I have seen it countless times.

Team restored to 15 men after red card but a yellow carries over?"
Yellow cards do not carry over, however of a player is on a noting then that carries over

How do you know there has been a second foul? The ref may not have thought there to be a second foul
