Its not a perfect solution but it makes it more likely to have an official close to the action.

We've seen the stop start nature of the VAR in soccer. With the physical nature of hurling the match would go on forever

I don't know Ej with the impact of a wrong call on the game and on the player who has trained for months it would seem as important as reviewing a score to make sure a sending off is correct. The yellow card can be reviewed with play continuing with all cards recording on the score board so as not to confuse the spectator. If it is taken down it was obviously reversed and the player would not be sent off if he got another. The same for a straight red. The player is off the field until reviewed but allowed return if the review shows it was a wrong call, with the score board showing the change of status. I am sure a red carded player and his team would be prefer to have him back on even if he missed a few minutes. We make things more difficult than they need to be and instead of bashing referees in the fastest sport in the world give them a bit of help. I also believe the officials will get it right more often if there are reviews. Like I said I do not like to bash referees but do have a problem with sleepy linesmen and umpires who think they are only there for the meals. Spot on. And as obvious as can be. It's nearly a wrestling/martial arts type of action.
