Super 8 Round 2 Venues

(Oldest Posts First)

Complete nonsense having full round in croke park next weekend, games will be played in poor atmospheres just like last year. Outside of Dublin, mayo and possibly Donegal can't see the other counties travelling in big numbers. As donaghy brought up on sky today playing the games in provinicial venues would have created better atmospheres, good for local economies and a simple solution to dublins 2 home games.could have been as the below.

Cork v tyrone- any of portlaoise, tullamore, navan or parnell park.

Dublin v roscommon- tullamore, portlaoise or even thurles if the capacities not sufficient, thurles could be a double header with another game potentially

Meath v mayo- Cavan, could have even been in thurles as double header with Dublin roscommon

Kerry v Donegal- salthill or Hyde park

well here we go again...cork have to travel back to croke park for their second away game...roscommon now face two away games on the trot, while dublin will be at home for the second week of the row...and yet we have the mandarins in croke park trying to convince us that this is an equitable system...you couldn't make it up if you tried

Personally I think the Super 8 is mess to begin with but if it is here to stay the croke park game needs to go. Eithe rplay it neautral somewhere between the 2 teams or give extra home games to prov champions.

And the Dublin crowds are making the argument to get them out of croker more alot easier

If I was cork I'd be asking why can't the super 8's and all Ireland semi finals be held in Cork. Capacity would hardly ever be tested. Yet we have it in Dublin always. An absolute joke the GAA is becoming.

Even the Cork hurlers playing their quarter final in Dublin because they thought they'd beat laois and they needed a double header to justify it.

And the crazy thing is it can't be changed because crokepark sold corporate boxes with the guarantee of quarter finals semifinals and finals.

Croke Park might be my least favourite venue for watching football.

The pitch is too large, makes the game less intense.

The stadium is too large for all but the final.

The attendance in Killarney today outnumbered the attendance in croke pk last night. No justification for Dublin having all their games in croke pk. They are boring to watch and people are staying away.

Croke park is a dead duck especially now the Dublin bandwagon has abandoned the team. Only the die hards left.

Croker should not be the neutral match, you're dead right. It should be a venue between the counties involved. And you should not be allowed nominate croke park as your home venue. If Dublin want to accommodate their fans they can build a suitable stadium or nominate a venue in another county.

And bear in mind the current situation suits meath because the Croker fixture will always be convenient for us but it's not fair.
