Is the match likely to sell out?

Replying To GreenandRed:  "The Derby day was scheduled well in advance, the match was scheduled on Monday. The first race is at 1:45 and not many will show up just for The Derby at 5:20. The people most put out are probably those that would like to go to both match and races."
I was being sarcastic.I just find it funny how many people in Ireland are just waiting fro a chance to blame the GAA for something.
Judging by kildare folk on here this is a non story anyway and the lad from the Curragh races seems to be pretty friendly about it.
As for adults having to choose which leisure activity to go do on a Saturday well poor them and their first world problems.

I'd say so, especially if weather stays fine.

GAA have been waiting in the long grass after the new bridge or nowhere debacle last summer.
There not going to appease Kildare in any way shape of form.
What goes around etc..

Replying To timmyhogan:  "There is no issue here you say but the Curragh CEO publicily says otherwise and given that the not so subtle issue that its the timing - 5pm vs 7pm - seems to have escaped you I fear we must leave it there."
Given that KildareKelly is from Kildare maybe you should leave it there ."
I dont rate being from Kildare higher than the abiity to tell the time, fine county though it is. Your mileage may vary. Another 20 pages and the penny might drop ;-)

Only difference from last year is that it's a 5pm throw in which isn't a problem instead of a 7pm throw in which isn't a problem.

Replying To Onion Breath:  "This is a non issue. The CEO of the Curragh is just annoyed that the attendance on his showpiece day is now set to be reduced considerably. Many who would have gone to the Curragh won't now. That's the Curragh's problem. Their only chance to get remotely close to filling the place, which it needs to do as there hasn't been a cricket there since it reopened, has gone up in smoke. Tough. The arrogance of Curragh management continues to be breathtaking, and not just on this issue. They've driven people away over the years and will continue to do so. A background in racing would help I suppose."
Here here.

The problem will be traffic congestion, access/egress and the racing has been set in stone for months. Poor organisation/thinking to put gaelic on at this time. Football should move.

So, how was the traffic?
