Paul Mannion's Red Card Against Louth

Replying To Jackeen:  "Of course you can't. And Mannion didn't. Red card will most probably be deservedly rescinded."
I'm not saying it's a red card, believe a yellow was more than enough. Just pointing out I don't believe you can shoulder from the front. Is a shoulder not meant to be side on side?

It's not a frontal charge if shoulder contacts shoulder which it seemed to when you see it in slow motion. I have to say at the game I saw it from behind and thought it was a red as I thought Paul contacted his head but in fact he hurt his head when he hit the ground. I wouldn't blame the ref as he sees it once at full speed and has to call it within seconds. I think the player was beginning to rotate to a square position and although Mannion made contacted his shoulder the player wasn't braced. A yellow certainly.

Are you for real? He hits him from the front. Foul all day long. As I said, don't think it's a red card, but that is not a fair shoulder. Are you seriously saying a shoulder charge can be from the front? Come off it... You need to shoulder a fella shoulder on shoulder, standing up and on your feet. I cannot see how you think a charge from the front is legal

It was an aggressive hit from a clean player, yellow would have been justified.

Replying To gaelicgab:  "If it was an All Ireland semi final it would be big news but was it a fair 'shoulder to shoulder' challenge or a deserved red card? It was done at speed and on second look I think Mannion shouldnt have been sent off.

He has been cleared to play. The right decision.

A no brainer of a decision.

Like I said. He's been cleared to play.

Mannion had no regard for the safety of the player he nailed with the frontal strike. Majority of the contact was not on the shoulder. Should not have been overturned in my view. Anyway good luck to him. Dublin are a class act

A reckless challenge without regard for a player in both codes warrants a yellow card.

If Paul Mannion was from Louth, would it have been overturned?.

Like the way Connolly got 3 months for finger poking a linesman because he was from Dublin.l? What Mannion did was a yellow card offense. The Sunday Game analysts called it and got him off the same way that they got Connolly suspended. It doesn't matter what county you're from it's what the SG jury says that determines the punishment.

The Armagh lad didn't get his red card over turned and it looked less dangerous.

What did the SG analysts have to say about it? I rest my case.

If only it was that simple.
