Grattans/Legan affected the league but not the championship; the delay was to do with Kenagh not wanting to be relegated to Junior.

3 out of 4 teams from Group 1 and 3 out of 4 teams from Group 2 join with 2 out of 3 teams from Group 3 in an open draw Quarter Finals. So just win one game in your group, rest doesn't matter, on you go to knockouts and performance in your group is irrelevant once you don't end up in last place. Nonsense, utter waste of time nonsense. Can we have a mass said to have this structure reconsidered for the love of God?

Dead right. It's nonsense. Just bite the bullet and have 2 down/1 up next year so you're left with 10 teams.

Then you can have 2 groups of 5.

Top of each group go straight to semi
2nd of A vs 3rd of B (and vice versa) in the quarters
4th place in each group - championship is over for the year
Bottom of each group into the relegation play off

Everyone has at least 4 championship games. You get rewarded for topping your group and if you get relegated, you can have no complaints.

Have 3 groups of uneven numbers is just stupidity of the highest order, all because numerous clubs over the last 10-15 years have refused to be relegated to intermediate!

Do you not think they've tried. The 10 team championship is due to kick in for 2020, but I wouldn't hold my breath . The 2 relegated clubs this year will appeal and appeal until people get tired of listening to them and will eventually cave in and allow them to remain in the senior championship. See Grattens in the league, refusing to play in Div 3 despite being relegated
