Well North Tipperary and South Tipperary were two separate counties before 1884, so it would be a brilliant to unite East and West Meath. I remember a good friend's auld lad used to insist there was only 31 counties, he couldn't wrap his head around the fact they were two completely separate counties, wasn't the brightest god love him. I think we could start on a smaller scale, like returning Ballaghaderren to Roscommon. Keep the administrative boundaries intact. In 20 years when 60% of the population live in Greater dublin maybe a load of counties amalgamate Imagine this for a championship 2040 1. Dublin North 2. Dublin South 3. Meath (By now bursting with 400,000 people ) 4. Kildare/Wicklow/Wexford 5. Midlands (Westmeath, Laois, Carlow, Offaly, Kilkenny, Longford) 6. Mayo 7. Galway 8. Sligo/Roscommon/Leitrim 9. Lean ar agaid leis an obair" Silly me. I forgot to mention that Tipperary also 'confiscated' a parish in Offaly- Moneygall- Remember when Obama came there, he came to Co Offaly.
