Replying To galwayford:  "Limerick win, well done to them. I am not a fan though. I think they were "gifted" an All Ireland last year by the GAA hierarchy. Galway had lots of matches with dubious reffing and lots of draws and extra time coming into the final. Also All Ireland ref last year, James Owens is not Galway hurlers favourite ref by any stretch.
Joe Canning was flattened last week - and did not receive a free. He is out now for 3 months or so."
what has joe cannings injury got to do with limerick winning today.....you seem a little mixed up or frustrated.....anyway thanks for the congratulations.......league and all ireland champions sounds good...))

(1)Simply said Limerick had just as much problems with Owens during the year as Galway ever had
(2) Every Galway person I know, and I know quite a few, said Limerick were a better team on the day
(3) Joe Canning said that if his last free had gone over Galway might have won a replay but it would have been a travesty.
(4) Every thing that has followed the All Ireland win, right up until today, has done nothing to dispel the notion that Limerick are the best team in the country.

Congratulations Limerick. Best team in the country. Ye will take some stopping this year if ye come out of Munster. Very worthy All Ireland and now League champions.

Well done to all who took part in this year's league prediction competition. We'll be back next month with one for the championship if we can get the same interest. Congratulations to our new league champ PoolSturgeon, a couple of Supermacs vouchers will they do? We've a big prize on offer for the championship and that's a tour of O'Connor Park guided by over very own Mick McDonagh. It's no secret that Carlovia has been keeping his powder dry for the summer in his bid to win the bloody thing again. I'm sick of the sight of those Carlow jerseys around the place and so is Mick...

That's tasty and tempting, PortinFaithful!
Gonna set my sights now on the dream prize of the tour of O'Connor Park. Hope you will throw in a ham sandwich and a cup of tea as well!

Bit of a contradiction there. ... "best team in the Country" but will take some stopping "if ye come out of Munster" you'd think the best team in the Country would have no problem coming out of Munster!!

Enjoyed the prediction game, over the past 2 months. Congratulations to Pool Sturgeon for his skill in predicting the results. Mick Mc Donagh is ready and waiting to show you the sights.
We have a Supermacs in Tullamore too, that's the food sorted.
Roll on the championship, I'm ready to have a go.

I know you said in a post last year that you have Clare connections. It shows in most posts you write, especially in relation to Limerick!

If you think theres a contradiction in what I said then I think you need to get yourself acquainted with how the hurling championship works nowadays. I will be surprised if Limerick dont emerge in the top 3 in Munster. But all 5 teams there will fancy their chances of qualifying to the All Ireland stage and rightly so. Wouldnt discount Waterford's chances of being in the top 3 either despite yesterday's performance. Having home games this year could make a difference for them.

Thanks to all the decent Galway people who were so gracious in defeat last August and we hope to cross swords (hurleys) with you in manly combat again soon.

Limerick are worthy league champions for 2019 and no one can begrudge them the 2018 all Ireland title. So well done to limerick they are the team to beat in 2019. Galway were league and all Ireland champions for 2017. This time last year galway looked unbeatable then the luck deserted them and it has continued for 2019. I personally think all Ireland champ 2019 between limerick tip cork kilkenny and galway. My prediction is tipperary to win out in the end.

Yes Tipperary definitely will have a good year and with Waterford improving Clare and Cork have good teams too so Munster will be "very interesting" this year!!!!
