Congratulations Mullinalaghta

Massive congratulations to all in Mullinalaghta, the GAA story of the year as far as I'm concerned.

I'm proud of my connections to that wee half parish on the Longford Cavan border - my Grandmother was a native. I spent plenty of time during summer holidays in the late 80s and early 90s knocking around the locality so I know it pretty well.

The Killarney of the North Midlands I often heard it described as, and it's true, all around the shores of Lough Gowna is a beautiful scenic area. A hidden gem so to speak with very little tourism, bar the odd angler!

The team have shown fantastic skill, heart and determination to climb to the top of this year's Leinster club football championship and I sincerely hope it is not the end of this particular story…….and I have a feeling they might have a surprise or two left in them yet!!

Congratulations. A wonderful achievement. Small clubs can make dreams a reality. Mullinalaghta the talk of the Country. An inspiration for players everywhere especially during the hard slog in training on bitter winter nights.
