RIP...a colossal hurler full back, centre back...he was one of the first hurlers I remember as outstanding when I was 10/11 back in early 1980's..

Leonard was a joy to watch. Skill, athleticism, gracefulness, and sportsmanship of the highest order. Following in the foot steps of the great Pat Hartigan was there ever a county that put such two greats back to back.

he also played centre with young munster, had minutes silence for him before lansdowne game on saturday. rip leonard

He was slightly before my time but I caught the tail end of his career and thought him a fine hurler. That was some career he had spanning 17 years!

I also remember him on Superstars. Always cheered for the GAA players when they appeared on the show.
