Nice Post. Well done. He was a fantastic player, tough as nails full back.. By all accounts one of lifes gentlemen also.

Leonard was a joy to watch. Skill, athleticism, gracefulness, and sportsmanship of the highest order. Following in the foot steps of the great Pat Hartigan was there ever a county that put such two greats back to back.

R.I.P. Leonard.A great hurler.I remember his great performances especially well from the 80 and 81 Galway / Limerick games.

he also played centre with young munster, had minutes silence for him before lansdowne game on saturday. rip leonard

He was slightly before my time but I caught the tail end of his career and thought him a fine hurler. That was some career he had spanning 17 years!

I also remember him on Superstars. Always cheered for the GAA players when they appeared on the show.
