There are some who would prefer to see Gaoth Dobhair out again this weekend playing in the AI semi so the whole thing can be finished before Christmas. Il never understand that way of thinking, the next few weeks of celebrations and then 6 weeks of excitement for the build-up to the semi final is what it's all about. There will be a lot of FEAR around Gaobh Dobhair in the next few days. Great for the lads to celebrate it to the full. I think it would be better to put the phones away though, they are making rods for their own backs potentially. Don't get me wrong... Until then there was the ridiculous situation where, after 70 minutes, Team A could be down to 14 men and Team B could have a man with a yellow card, and then in extra time, Team A would go back to having 15 men (effectively clearing the red card from the team) but Team B yellow card man could get a second yellow and be sent off. Well you must feel very silly now, anyone who knows Leinster football will have known how good mullinaghta are and you should learn not to dismiss a team based on their population but rather on the players at their disposal. Great believe and desire on show from the Mullinaghta lads there today. But it must be said that Kilmacud were the artists of their own downfall with questionable decision making when seeing out the game. They went far too negative towards the end despite having some impressive attacking talent on the pitch. Conversely Mullinaghta went for the jugular even after the peno when winning possession. The decision by the Kilmacud player deep in injury time when 2 points down to take on a marginal point chance when chances were there would be no time after anyways was crazy to say the least. On a slightly separate note and with my Donegal bias hat on the value of having a big time accurate free taker in these club games is huge. Both sides today missed important frees that at this time of year were not easy. Corofin will be favourites given their pedigree at this stage of the competition. But Gaoth Dobhair are in bonus territory as far as they are concerned so will approach it without inhibition. The match ups will be very interesting. Kieran Fitz vs Cassidy perhaps? The two old warriors going toe to toe would be great to see. Ian Burke vs Odhran MacPhaidín-O'Fearraigh?
