It Just Doesn't Feel Right

have to say there wasn't a huge amount of atmosphere round the city Saturday and Sunday compared to previous years. Didn't get the buzz on Sat night you usually get on the eve of an All Ireland. Also there wasn't the usual worry about getting tickets. Think the fact the everyone expected Dublin would win with a bit to spare meant there wasn't the usual anticipation.

No offence to Tyrone supporters but I think if it was any other team there might have been more of a buzz and a case of counties rallying behind the underdog. I think a lot of Tyrone supporters would accept that and frankly couldn't care less (I know I wouldn't).
I mean, had Monaghan come through instead of Tyrone it would have been a much bigger build up with everyone rallying behind them

Was lucky enough to be in a few excellent Northside drinking establishments on Saturday night and there seemed like there was a decent Tyrone crowd already down. Definitely more opposition supporters out and about my haunts than in pervious years. Maybe Tyrone people and Mayo people drink in different Dublin pubs than each other!

I'd say it feels alright now if you're a Dublin fan, have to say hats off to them, fantastic team and I can't see anyone beating them for a long time if they keep the focus they have, that's what I find most remarkable about them, I have made the points about the advantages the Dublin set up has but for this team to stay so hungry playing at the level they are at is remarkable.

Replying To bdbuddah:  "Historically the football final has drawn bigger crowds (hurling finals tradationally did not always sell out) and TV audience. Even recently (2016) I was able to buy a hurling final ticket on general sale. Having said that in the last 10 years or so the hurling is much better to watch. Some of the Kilkenny Tipp finals have been amazing. The level of interest in the football this year is the lowest I have ever seen. The GAA has their head stuck in the sand and won't address football's issues with rule changes."
no final tickets ever go on general sale, they are distributed via clubs. they don't end up on ticketmaster or gaa tickets

I bought tickets online for Tipp/KK replay 2014 online and Galway/KK 2012 replay online.
