Silly Championship Times

(Oldest Posts First)

Does any other county play club championship games at random times. The Down county board decided it would be a great idea to put on a championship match on a Sunday night with throw in time at 8.15. They've taken no consideration for the players or fans but for some reason that doesn't surprise me.

i would rather a game at 8.15 on a sunday night than 2 o clock on a sunday,at club level.
at least you can do something with the day before the match.

Few years ago played a North Tipperary Intermediate football final on a Saturday night 9pm throw in under lights middle of October.
We lost by 6 points.
Next day we played the Co Quarter Final at 12pm Noon taking on the hot bed of Tipp football South Champions and won by 1 point. 2-02 to 0-08. A guy named Conor Sweeney scored 0-07 of those points. Relatively unknown outside of Tipp at the time was more known in rugby circles think he played for Cork Con at the time as well.
